Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) has emerged as a promising treatment strategy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but a detailed understanding of the multicellular ecosystem after HAIC treatment is lacking. Here, we collected tumor samples from treatment-naïve primary and post-HAIC HCC, and integrated single-nucleus RNA sequencing with spatial transcriptomics to characterize the tumor ecosystem in the post-HAIC HCC. Increased fractions and enhanced cellular communication of CD4 T, CD20 B, and dendritic cell subtypes were identified in post-HAIC tumors.

Intraventricular haemorrhage (IVH) is bleeding within the ventricular system, which in adults is usually mainly secondary to cerebral haemorrhage and subarachnoid haemorrhage. Hydrocephalus is one of the most common complications of intraventricular haemorrhage, which is characterised by an increase in intracranial pressure due to an increased accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid within the ventricular system, and is closely related to the patient's prognosis. Surgical methods such as shunt surgery have been used to treat secondary hydrocephalus in recent years and have been effective in improving the survival and prognosis of patients with hydrocephalus.

Background: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) results from the rupture of blood vessels causing bleeding within the brain and is one of the major causes of death and long-term disability globally, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), including hypertension, atherosclerosis, myocardial ischemia, and myocardial infarction, constitute the primary cause of mortality worldwide. Transcription factors play critical roles in the development of CVDs and contribute to the pathophysiology of these diseases by coordinating the transcription of many genes involved in inflammation, oxidative stress, angiogenesis, and glycolytic metabolism. One important regulator of hemostasis in both healthy and pathological settings has been identified as a purinergic signalling pathway.

PI3K-δ inhibitors have shown impressive activity in lymphoid malignancies but have been hampered by autoimmune and infectious toxicities, leading to market withdrawals. We previously demonstrated activity of the PI3K-δγ inhibitor duvelisib in T cell lymphomas (TCLs) that was associated with inflammatory adverse events. As reported here, we conducted a phase 1b/2a study of duvelisib in combination with either romidepsin (n = 66) or bortezomib (n = 32) in patients with relapsed/refractory TCL and found that the addition of romidepsin, but not bortezomib, appeared to increase efficacy while attenuating PI3K inhibitor-driven toxicity.

There have been few studies on the role of nanofluids in oil displacement and injection parameters, despite their significant impact on the oil displacement effect. To enhance oil recovery in an ultralow-permeability reservoir, the nanosized oil-displacement agent with nano-SiO modified by a silane coupling agent as a main component was selected for the first time in the Changqing oilfield. Cardiac fibrosis is characterized by the excessive deposition of extracellular matrix in the myocardium with cardiac fibroblast activation, leading to chronic cardiac remodeling and dysfunction. However, little is known about metabolic alterations in fibroblasts during cardiac fibrosis, and there is a lack of pharmaceutical treatments that target metabolic dysregulation. Gene fusions involving tumor protein p63 gene (TP63) occur in multiple T and B cell lymphomas and portend a dismal prognosis for patients. The function and mechanisms of TP63 fusions remain unclear, and there is no target therapy for patients with lymphoma harboring TP63 fusions. This paper presents the development of a dielectric spectroscopy-based method using a customized, transmission line probe, fabricated on a printed circuit board (PCB), for monitoring the effect of diethyl phthalate (DEP) microplastics on marine algae growth. Experiments were performed by exposing marine algae (Chlorella pyrenoidosa) to DEP (0-50 mg) for up to 6 days. In order to amplify the electrophysiological effects and improve the sensing, a glutaraldehyde crosslinking agent was used and encapsulated on the surface of the probe.

Before 2016, there were no specific regulations or guidelines for the management of biological select agents and toxins (BSATs) in Taiwan. The Taiwan Centers for Disease Control responded to the global health security agenda in 2016 and made use of the Joint External Evaluation tool: International Health Regulations to evaluate Taiwan's epidemic prevention system capacities, including BSAT management. For technical areas that did not meet the highest requirements, the regulations and guidelines are now in place to strengthen the management of BSATs.

Earlier studies have noted potential adverse impacts of land-related emissions mitigation strategies on food security, particularly due to food price increases-but without distinguishing these strategies' individual effects under different conditions. Using six global agroeconomic models, we show the extent to which three factors-non-CO emissions reduction, bioenergy production and afforestation-may change food security and agricultural market conditions under 2 °C climate-stabilization scenarios. Results show that afforestation (often simulated in the models by imposing carbon prices on land carbon stocks) could have a large impact on food security relative to non-CO emissions policies (generally implemented as emissions taxes).
