Objective: The present study aimed to assess the efficacy of this approach and establish the criteria that identify LAPC patients who may achieve survival benefits from RRCIA.
Summary Background Data: Surgical resection for locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC) remains challenging and associated with high morbidity and mortality, especially for surgery with major arterial reconstruction. We previously showed the feasibility and safety of Radical Resection Combined with Intestinal Autotransplantation (RRCIA) after systemic treatment.
Aerobic composting technology is an efficient, safe and practical method to reduce the residues of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) due to unreasonable disposal of livestock manure. Nowadays, it remains unclear how aerobic composting works to minimize the level of remaining antibiotics and ARGs in manure. Moreover, aerobic composting techniques even have the potential to enhance ARGs level.

This study used the typical biomass of pine (PI), rice husk (RH), and corn straw (ST) as feedstocks to evaluate the pyrolysis mechanisms, features and conversion mechanisms of the phenol tar product. The phenolic gaseous products were more trailing in ST, which mostly concentrated around 320-500 °C.

Metabolic adaptations occurring in the kidney in response to diabetes contribute to the pathogenesis of DKD. Iron metabolism and ferroptosis, a recently defined form of cell death resulting from iron-dependent excessive accumulation of lipid peroxides, have emerged as crucial players in the progression of DKD.

Photoelectrochemical cells (PECs) are an important technology for converting solar energy, which has experienced rapid development in recent decades. Transparent conductive oxides (TCOs) are also gaining increasing attention due to their crucial role in PEC reactions. This review comprehensively delves into the significance of TCO materials in PEC devices.

Methods: We retrospectively included 175 and 75 HCC patients who underwent preoperative DCE-MRI from September 2019 to August 2022 in institution 1 (development cohort) and institution 2 (validation cohort), respectively. Static radiomics features were extracted from the mask, arterial, portal venous, and equilibrium phase images and used to construct dynamic features.
Following the publication of this paper, it was drawn to the Editor's attention by a concerned reader that the immunofluorescence staining data shown in Fig. 3C, and the migration and invasion assay data shown in Figs. 4C and 4D were strikingly similar to data appearing in different form in other research articles written by different authors at different research institutes that had either already been published, or were submitted for publication at around the same time, one of which has been retracted.

The impurity Cu was assumed to occupy the host trigonally-distorted octahedral Li site and experience the Jahn-Teller (JT) distortion from the host trigonal octahedral [TaO ] to the impurity rhombically elongated octahedral [CuO ] . Based on the calculations, the impurity-ligand bond lengths parallel and perpendicular to the C -axis are found to be R (≈ 2.

Pyrolysis of biomass feedstocks can produce valuable biofuel, however, the final products may present excessive corrosion and poor stability due to the lack of hydrogen content. Co-pyrolysis with hydrogen-rich substances such as waste plastics may compensate for these shortcomings. In this study, the co-pyrolysis of a common biomass, i.

Imaging surrogates of these vascular patterns potentially help to predict post-resection recurrence. Herein, a prognostic model integrating imaging-based surrogates of these distinct vascular patterns was developed to predict postoperative recurrence-free survival (RFS) in patients with HCC.

Methods: Data on the stroke burden [incidence, prevalence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs)] and the population-attributable fraction for stroke risk factors from 1990 to 2019 were obtained from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 (GBD 2019).
Background Prediction of microvascular invasion (MVI) may help determine treatment strategies for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Purpose To develop a radiomics approach for predicting MVI status based on preoperative multiphase CT images and to identify MVI-associated differentially expressed genes. Materials and Methods Patients with pathologically proven HCC from May 2012 to September 2020 were retrospectively included from four medical centers.

Sintilimab, a human immunoglobulin G4 monoclonal antibody for programmed cell death-1, has shown efficacy in various cancers. We evaluated the efficacy and safety of sintilimab with mFFX for metastatic/recurrent pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma in China.

Background: Ginsenoside Rg1 (Rg1) is one of the key bioactive components of the precious Traditional Chinese Medicine that has been used to treat diabetes in China. Ginsenosides have been reported to protect diabetics from tissue damage, inflammation, and insulin resistance. Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an organ-specific autoimmune disease that occurred frequently among adolescents over the world, its development was related to inflammation and -cells immunodeficiency.

We investigated preoperative drug-eluting bead transarterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) plus sintilimab, in this setting.
Approach And Results: In this prospective, phase II study (NCT04174781), adults with HCC of BCLC stage A exceeding the Milan criteria, or BCLC stage B, and ineligible for surgical resection, received sintilimab 200 mg and DEB-TACE.
Objective: To achieve radical resection of locally advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), and tested the safety and benefits of intestinal autotransplantation in pancreatic surgery.
Background: PDAC has an extremely dismal prognosis. Radical resection was proved to improve the prognosis of patients with PDAC; however, the locally advanced disease had a very low resection rate currently.
Background: With the advent of intensive combination regimens, an increasing number of patients with unresectable pancreatic cancer (UPC) have regained the opportunity for surgery. We investigated the clinical benefits and prognostic factors of conversion surgery (CS) in UPC patients.
Methods: We retrospectively enrolled patients with UPC who had received CS following first-line systemic treatment in our center between 2014 to 2022.
The reuse of biomass waste is conducive to the recovery of resources and can solve the pollution problem caused by incineration and landfill. For this reason, the thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) was used to study the pyrolysis of the mushroom sticks (MS) and discarded meal boxes at different heating rates (10 °C·min, 20 °C·min, 30 °C·min). The statistical analysis showed that the factors of pyrolysis temperature and particle size had a greater effect, while the heating rate was significant.
