The plastid-encoded RNA polymerase serves as the principal transcription machinery within chloroplasts, transcribing over 80% of all primary plastid transcripts. This polymerase consists of a prokaryotic-like core enzyme known as the plastid-encoded RNA polymerase core, and is supplemented by newly evolved associated proteins known as PAPs. However, the architecture of the plastid-encoded RNA polymerase and the possible functions of PAPs remain unknown.

Article Synopsis
  • Medicago sativa, the "king of forage," is crucial for its rich nutrient content, but its growth is threatened by abiotic stresses like drought, salinity, and cold temperatures.
  • The study identified 10 MsEIN3/EIL genes in M. sativa, classifying them into three groups and highlighting their role in responding to environmental challenges through specific gene expressions.
  • Three genes, MsEIL1, MsEIL4, and MsEIL5, were found to be potential positive regulators against abiotic stress, offering valuable insights for future breeding and crop improvement.

There are multiple types of services in the Internet of Things, and existing access control methods do not consider situations wherein the same types of services have multiple access options. In order to ensure the QoS quality of user access and realize the reasonable utilization of Internet of Things network resources, it is necessary to consider the characteristics of different services to design applicable access control strategies. In this paper, a preference-aware user access control strategy in slices is proposed, which can increase the number of users in the system while balancing slice resource utilization.

A simple method for laser frequency stabilizing by a temperature-tuned Fabry-Perot etalon is reported. The etalon is a plano-convex lens that permits tuning the length and refractive index via controlling the temperature for shifting wavelengths in the region of 852 nm, with a transmission spectral linewidth of ∼72.5 and free spectral region of ∼16.

Background And Aims: The expression of signal transducers and activators of transcription 3 (STAT3) is increased in Crohn's disease (CD), and nuclear translocated STAT3 is also found in the disease. However, the role of STAT3 protein on the pathogenesis of CD is not clear. This study was executed to investigate the role of STAT3 protein on the pathogenesis of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced colitis, the pathogenesis of which is CD-like.

Unlabelled: Clozapine (CLZ), olanzapine (OLZ), risperidone (RIP) and quetiapine (QTP) have been widely used in the treatment of schizophrenia. However, no study (or little study) has been conducted to determine the four drugs simultaneously by the use of high-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/ESI).

Objective: To develop a sensitive method for simultaneous determination of CLZ, OLZ, RIP and QTP in human plasma by HPLC-MS/ESI.
