Tumors occurring along the hypothalamus-pituitary axis receive axonal projection from neuroendocrine neurons, but it remains unclear whether neuroendocrine neuronal activity drives tumor expansion. Craniopharyngioma is a common suprasellar tumor with a propensity for invading the hypothalamus, leading to devastating endocrine and metabolic disorders. Here, we developed two autochthonous animal models that faithfully recapitulate the molecular pathology, clinical manifestations, and transcriptomic profiles of papillary craniopharyngioma.

Skin infections caused by microbes such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses often lead to aberrant skin functions and appearance, eventually evolving into a significant risk to human health. Among different drug administration paradigms for skin infections, microneedles (MNs) have demonstrated superiority mainly because of their merits in enhancing drug delivery efficiency and reducing microbial resistance. Also, integrating biosensing functionality to MNs offers point-of-care wearable medical devices for analyzing specific pathogens, disease status, and drug pharmacokinetics, thus providing personalized therapy for skin infections.

Objective: To investigate the role of miR-30a-5p on the proliferation and apoptosis of hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) and whether the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway is involved.

Methods: HFSCs derived from the vibrissa of mammary rats were obtained by enzymatic digestion, and subsequently the obtained HFSCs were treated with Lipofectamine 2000 cell transfection and divided into normal cell culture group (control), miR-30a-5p overexpression group (miR-30a-5p mimic), miR-30a-5p empty vector group (miR-NC), miR-30a-5p inhibitor group (in-miR-30a-5p), and in-miR-30a-5p empty vector group (in-miR-NC). The temperature of the surrounding rock in cold-region tunnels is crucial for antifreeze design, and the water-ice phase transition is essential to addressing the temperature field. This paper proposes a refined method that equates the latent heat of the ice-water phase transition to heat capacity and establishes a one-dimensional radial heat transfer model considering phase change. By defining an average thermal diffusivity coefficient through the concept of equal accumulated temperature, this method overcomes the limitations of classical heat transfer theory in directly solving the temperature field of three zone (unfrozen zone, freezing zone and frozen zone).
