Objective: The infrabrow blepharoplasty is a common surgical operation indicated in Asians for periorbital rejuvenation. This operation alone is difficult to achieve the correction of crow's feet. Therefore, the authors elucidate the authors' experiences of applying infrabrow blepharoplasty combined with the subcutaneous undermining of the lateral periorbital region to treat upper eyelid dermatochalasis with lateral hooding deformity and alleviate crow's feet, including its indications, operative procedures, and postoperative outcomes.

However, there were limited therapeutic targets for such diseases. In this study, miR-495 was found dramatically reduced in atrophic skeletal muscle induced by mechanical unloading models both in vitro and in vivo, including the random positioning model (RPM), tail-suspension (TS) model, and aged mice model.

This study delves into an MDR E. coli strain, QMM-01, which uniquely co-expresses β-lactamases from all four recognized classes, aiming to uncover the underlying mechanisms of its resistance and assess its potential for global spread.

Arsenic biotransformation is mainly mediated by microorganisms which often employ diverse metabolic strategies for survival. However, the microorganisms responsible for As cycling and their survival strategies in geothermal environment in Tibet, the Third Pole, remain unclear.

Inhibition of the intrinsic STING pathway in GBM hampers the effectiveness of immunotherapies. To overcome this clinical limitation, a Sequential Release HydroLipo System (SRHLS) is developed, in which hydrogels and nanoparticles are combined for controlled drug release.

Cases of invasive GBS infections in adults have also increased and attracted attention recently. To comprehensively understand the evolving burden of vaginal GBS carriage in pregnant and non-pregnant women, as well as the trends in invasive GBS diseases and antibiotic resistance in China, we conducted a retrospective study using data from a large tertiary hospital in Beijing from 2013 to 2023.

Background: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is currently the most aggressive subtype of breast cancer, characterized by high heterogeneity and strong invasiveness, and currently lacks effective therapies. PRMT5, a type II protein arginine methyltransferase, is upregulated in numerous cancers, including TNBC, and plays a critical role, marked it as an attractive therapeutic target. PROTAC (Proteolysis Targeting Chimeras) is an innovative drug development technology that utilizes the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) to degrade target proteins, which is characterized by higher activity, enhanced safety, lower resistance, and reduced toxicity, offering significant value for clinical translation.

MS imaging (MSI) is a powerful technique for investigating the spatial distribution of metabolites in complex biological samples. However, due to the absence of liquid chromatography (LC) separation in routine MSI analysis, matrix effect is obvious and isomers identification remains challenging. To overcome these shortcomings of classical MSI tools (e.

However, the relationship between phytostabilization efficiency and microbial consortium composition and diversity remains unclear. This study selected three cadmium (Cd) resistant plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPB) from Bacillus, Pseudomonas, and Rhodopseudomonas were selected as candidates for biochar-based microbial inoculants.

Preliminary antifungal activity assay results demonstrated that hydrazide-chromene and thiazol-chromene derivatives exhibited excellent and broad-spectrum inhibitory activity against ten phytopathogenic fungi. Among them, six compounds , , , , , and displayed the most remarkable antifungal effects.

Pathological evidences have been presented both in humans and animal models. Spermatogenesis disruption, worse sperm parameters, hormone disorder and erectile dysfunction are emblematic of male reproductive impairments brought by hypoxia.

To understand new mechanism of Cr(VI)-induced tumorigenesis and cancer development, we identified that PDK1 expression levels were greatly increased in chromium-transformed cells (Cr-T) compared to the parental BEAS-2B (B2B) cells by proteomic profiling and Western blotting; PDK1 levels were also induced in lung cancer cell lines and in lung samples of mice exposed to Cr(VI).

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical and pathological data of 279 patients with SRNS from six tertiary hospitals in Guangxi. Clinical data were compared between initial (I-SRNS) and secondary (S-SRNS) steroid resistance subgroups and Cox regression analysis was used to determine risk factors for chronic kidney disease (CKD) and CKD stage 5 (CKD5) in patients with SRNS.
Angiogenesis is well known to play a critical role in breast cancer. We previously reported that TNFAIP2 activates Rac1 to promote triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) cell proliferation, migration, and chemoresistance. However, the potential contribution of TNFAIP2 to tumor angiogenesis remains unknown.

PX-478, a novel inhibitor of hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α), has demonstrated antitumor activity across various cancer models, but its specific role in AML remains unexplored. This study aimed to explore the potential target and mechanism of PX-478-induced AML cell apoptosis.

Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy analysis demonstrated that an increase in the proportion of black bean peel anthocyanins resulted in a deeper color and a more pronounced color change effect. Moreover, the stability of the blended anthocyanins was markedly enhanced with an increase in the proportion of purple cabbage anthocyanins, resulting in a slower decomposition rate under light, temperature, oxidation, and varying pH conditions.

In the retina, DRAM2 is located to the inner segment of photoreceptors, the apical surface of retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells, and the lysosome. Pathogenic variants of DRAM2 lead to autosomal recessive Cone-rod dystrophy 21 (CORD21).
