To investigate the effect of combined action of discharge plasma (DP) and plasma-activated water (PAW) in mutagenesis breeding, this study focuses on Agropyron mongolicum. We utilized high-voltage DC pulsed dielectric barrier discharge for seed treatment, alone and in combination with PAW. The research focused on germination rates, evolution of physicochemical properties of imbibition residual solution, reactive oxygen species (ROS), malondialdehyde (MDA), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to assess DP-induced damage and variability in Agropyron mongolicum.

A DNA-compatible three-component reaction is disclosed for the synthesis of on-DNA polysubstituted isoxazolidines that serve as privileged core scaffolds in numerous natural products and bioactive molecules. This one-pot approach involves the 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of DNA-tagged styrenes with diazo compounds and nitrosoarenes in an aqueous solution of KOAc. The reaction demonstrates excellent functional group compatibility, providing a conventional protocol for the construction of a DNA-labeled isoxazolidine library.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a condition characterized by hepatosteatosis, inflammation, and tissue damage, with steatosis as the initial stage, which involves chronic, excess deposition of lipids in hepatic lipid droplets. Despite the growing prevalence and serious risks it poses, including liver decompensation, the need for transplantation, and increased patient mortality, MASH currently faces no approved pharmacotherapy. The regeneration of osteochondral defects is challenging due to the complex structure of the osteochondral unit. This study aimed to develop a biomimetic scaffold by loading growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) into poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles and incorporating them into polycaprolactone (PCL) scaffolds to promote synchronized osteochondral regeneration. The nanoparticles were successfully immobilized onto PCL scaffolds pre-modified with polydopamine (PDA) to enhance cell adhesion and proliferation.

A rhodium-catalyzed highly stereoselective formal [2 + 4]-cycloaddition reaction of α-diazo pyrazoleamides and 2-aminophenyl ketones that produces 4-hydroxy-2-quinolinones in good yields with excellent diastereoselectivities has been developed. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of temporal instability and possible heterogeneity on pedestrian accident severity, 48786 accident data from 2018 to 2021 in the UK STATS database were used as the study object, and accident severity was used as the dependent variable, and 49 accident characteristics were selected as independent variables from 6 characteristics of accident pedestrian, driver, vehicle, road, environment and time to construct the pedestrian accident mean heterogeneity random-parameter logit model and examined its temporal stability. The results of model estimation and likelihood ratio tests indicate that the variables affecting pedestrian injury severity are highly variable and not stable over the years. And further demonstrates the potential of models that address unobserved heterogeneity for significant relationships in pedestrian accident severity analyses.
