Noble-metal-free CO reduction systems based on cobalt phthalocyanine () and its derivatives have demonstrated remarkable photocatalytic performances; however, their structure-activity relationship with electronic tuning remains unexplored. Herein, we now provide a systematic study to investigate the electron effects of substituents on the family in photocatalytic CO reduction, where a Cu(I) heteroleptic photosensitizer is utilized. The highest performance can be achieved using cobalt tetracarboxylphthalocyanine in light-driven CO-to-CO reduction, with a maximum turnover number of 2950 at 450 nm and an outstanding apparent quantum yield of 63.

Post femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis corneal flap inversion trauma is an exceptionally rare and challenging complication in ophthalmology, highlighted by a case involving a 29-year-old woman who suffered an eye injury from ice chips 10 months after undergoing bilateral femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis surgery. The injury led to a corneal flap inversion and melting, exacerbated by a delay in seeking treatment due to the pandemic. When she finally presented for medical attention, her vision was severely compromised, with dense epithelial ingrowth obstructing the visual axis or blocking the pupillary entrance.

Plastic pollution represents a critical threat to soil ecosystems and even humans, as plastics can serve as a habitat for breeding and refuging pathogenic microorganisms against stresses. However, evaluating the health risk of plastispheres is difficult due to the lack of risk factors and quantification model. Here, DNA sequencing, single-cell Raman-DO labeling, and transformation assay were used to quantify key risk factors of plastisphere, including pathogen abundance, phenotypic resistance to various stresses (antibiotic and pesticide), and ability to acquire antibiotic resistance genes.

In this study, 16 kinds of natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES) with ultrasonic were selected to extract saponins from purple yam root and the extraction mechanism was investigated. The incorporation of high-valence transition metal atoms into FeNi (oxy)hydroxides may be a promising strategy to regulate the intrinsic electronic states, thereby reducing the thermodynamic barrier and accelerating oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Here, a high-valence Mo atoms doping route is proposed by an efficient self-reconstruction strategy to prepare MoFeNi (oxy)hydroxides for efficient alkaline OER. By using borides (MoNiB) as sacrificial template and Mo source, FeNi (oxy)hydroxides nanoflakes embedded with high-valence Mo atoms (MoFeNi) is successfully synthesized, which can modulate the electron coordination to improve the intrinsic catalytic activity.
