In Arabidopsis guard cells, the Gα subunit GPA1 mediates multiple stimuli-regulated stomatal movements via inhibiting guard cell inward-rectifying K (K) current, but it remains unclear whether GPA1 directly interacts with and inhibits the activities of K channels. Here, we found that GPA1 interacted with the transmembrane domain rather than the intracellular domain of the Shaker family K channel KAT1.

In this reaction, 2-alkynyl arylazides undergo gold-catalyzed cyclization, nucleophilic attack, and oxidation to form intermediate 2-phenyl-3-indol-3-ones, followed by an l-proline-catalyzed asymmetric Mannich reaction with ketones, to afford corresponding products in satisfactory yields with excellent enantio- and diastereoselectivities.

Efficient Visible-Light Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution over the InO@NiP Heterojunction of an In-Based Metal-Organic Framework.

Although the engineering of visible-light-driven photocatalysts with appropriate bandgap structures is beneficial for generating hydrogen (H), the construction of heterojunctions and energy band matching are extremely challenging. In this study, InO@NiP (IO@NP) heterojunctions are attained by annealing MIL-68(In) and combining the resulting material with NP via a simple hydrothermal method. Visible-light photocatalysis experiments validate that the optimized IO@NP heterojunction exhibits a dramatically improved H release rate of 2485.

Oxidation of 3-((2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)amino)indolin-2-ones and β-aryl-substituted aldehydes simultaneously and subsequent asymmetric cycloaddition in the presence of the chiral amino catalyst generated highly functionalized chiral CF-containing spiro[pyrrolidin-3,2'-oxindole] with four contiguous stereocenters stereoselectively, which is characterized by directly constructing two C-C bonds from four C(sp)-H bonds. This new method features mild conditions, broad substrate scope, and excellent functional group compatibility.

Background: Traumatic brain edema occurs commonly brain injury, and most manifests as pericontusional edema of brain contusions. On the basis of evidence-based medicine, apart from recommending craniotomy and mannitol, there are few particularly effective measures to prevent and treat traumatic brain edema. It is uncertain whether an early complementary acupuncture treatment would improve long-term outcomes of patients with traumatic brain edema.

This study aims to evaluate and determine the changes in QoL after gastrectomy and the impact of BC and physical function on QoL.

Methods: A total of 311 gastric cancer patients completed EORTC QLQ-C30 and EORTC QLQ-STO22 questionnaires before and 1, 3, 6 months post-surgery.

In this study, the synergistic effect of cyclic stretch and communication with neighboring VSMCs on EPC function during vascular repair was investigated.
