Photodegradation driven by solar radiation has been confirmed as an important driving factor for litter decomposition. However, previous single-site studies could not quantify the relative contribution of variation in solar radiation to litter decomposition. To address it, we conducted a field experiment in Heshan National Field Research Station of Forest Ecosystem, Guangdong (Heshan Station, south subtropical climate), Jigongshan Ecological Research Station, Xinyang, Henan (Jigongshan Station, north subtropical climate) and Daqinggou Ecological Research Station, Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Daqinggou Station, temperate climate) at intervals of 10 degrees.

Article Synopsis
  • - China leads the world in road construction due to its rapid economic growth, resulting in many exposed slopes that require ecological restoration, primarily through vegetation.
  • - The review covers key technologies like soil spraying and vegetation concrete, highlights the functions of slope vegetation (e.g., soil conservation and landscape improvement), and notes that shrub and grass communities are most commonly used.
  • - Factors influencing vegetation restoration include climate, soil, slope direction, plant species, and human impact; future research should explore these factors, as well as suitable plant configurations for different climates and environments.

Stress facilitates pain perception and sensitizes pain pathways, but the underlying mechanism is still unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the activation of 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) subtype-3 receptor in the spinal cord contributes to somatic hyperalgesia induced by repeated three-day forced swim in the estradiol replacement rats after ovariectomy. Somatic sensitivity was assessed by thermal withdrawal latency to radiant heat and mechanical withdrawal threshold to von Frey filaments.

The Lindera glauca, an economically and ecologically important tree species, has emerged as a novel potential plant for the intensive studies of essential oil owing to its characteristic aroma and medicinal property in distinct tissues. However, the transcriptome information and molecular research on this species is still unknown to date. To reveal the formation and accumulation mechanism of essential oil in distinct L.
