Background: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness and safety of neuromuscular blockers, mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), and inhaled pulmonary vasodilators (IV) for acute respiratory distress syndrome through a network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
Methods: We searched Chinese and English databases, including China National Knowledge Infrastructure, The Cochrane Library, PubMed, and EMbase, with no time restrictions. We conducted a network meta-analysis and reported the results according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses.
The pathogenesis of glioma has remained unclear. In this study, it was found that high expression of the outer dense fibers of sperm tail 3B (ODF3B) in gliomas was positively correlated with the grade of glioma. The higher the grade, the worse the prognosis.

Objectives: To understand the growth and development status and differences between small for gestational age (SGA) and appropriate for gestational age (AGA) preterm infants during corrected ages 0-24 months, and to provide a basis for early health interventions for preterm infants.
Methods: A retrospective study was conducted, selecting 824 preterm infants who received regular health care at the Guangzhou Women and Children's Medical Center from July 2019 to July 2022, including 144 SGA and 680 AGA infants. The growth data of SGA and AGA groups at birth and corrected ages 0-24 months were analyzed and compared.
Most mammals tolerate exposure to hypobaric hypoxia poorly as it may affect multiple regulatory mechanisms and inhibit cell proliferation, promote apoptosis, limit tissue vascularization, and disrupt the acid-base equilibrium. Here, we quantified the functional state of germ cell development and demonstrated the interaction between the germ and somatic cells via single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq). The present study elucidated the regulatory effects of hypobaric hypoxia exposure on germ cell formation and sperm differentiation by applying enrichment analysis to genomic regions.

Since direct inoculation results in a rapid decline of the population and activity, we immobilized Bacillus megaterium with maize straw biochar (B-PSB) and investigated its feasibility in remediating Cd-contaminated soil. Pot experiments showed that the application of B-PSB significantly ameliorated the growth of Brassica chinensis under Cd stress, with a fresh weight increased by 59.

Although selenium oxyanions such as selenite (SeO) and selenate (SeO) can alleviate Cd stress to plants, it is not known whether selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs) are able to do the same. The present study demonstrated the positive impact of both SeNPs and SeO on Brassica napus L.

An understanding of the composition of gut and oropharynx bacteria in these animals is important for monitoring and preventing such diseases. We therefore examined gut and oropharynx bacterial composition in these animals in China.

Methods: A total of 469 murine rodents and 19 house shrews were captured between May 2015 and May 2017. Cap gene of AAV sequences was obtained to evaluate the genetic characteristics of rat AAV.
Bocaparvovirus infections of humans and both wild and domestic animals have been widely reported around the world. In this study, we detected and genetically characterized porcine bocavirus (PBoV) carried by murine rodents (Rattus norvegicus, Rattus tanezumi, and Rattus losea) and house shrews (Suncus murinus) in China. Between May 2015 and May 2017, 496 murine rodents and 23 house shrews were captured in four Chinese provinces.

Objective: To explore the role of bromodomain and extra terminal (BET) bromodomain in hematopoietic differentiation from human enbryonic stem cells (hESC).
Methods: The effect of BET hematopoietic inhibitor I-BET151 on hematopoietic differentiation from hESC was detected by using a monolayer hematopoietic defferentiation model, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry and real-time PCR; moreover the role of I-BET151 in process of hematopoietic differentiation was explored by adding I-BET151 in different differentiation stages.
Results: The analysis results of immunofluorescence, flow cytometry and real-time PCR showed that I-BET 151 significantly inhibited the generation of CD43 positive hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs).
Purpose: Dermoscopy and reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) are non-invasive methods for diagnosis of malignant skin tumours. The aim of this study was to compare the accuracy of dermoscopy and RCM for the diagnosis of malignant skin tumours.
Methods: Systematic electronic literature searches were conducted to include PubMed, Medline, Embase, the Cochrane Library database, and Web of Science, up to 26 April 2016.
