Neuromuscular blockers (NMBs) selectively block neuromuscular transmission at the N2-nicotinic receptor on motor neurons to paralyze skeletal muscles, and are mainly used to facilitate tracheal intubation and surgical procedures. Rapid reversal is necessary in clinical practice to avoid profound block and reduce recovery time. Adamgammadex sodium is a modified γ-cyclodextrin derivative consisting of a lipophilic core and a hydrophilic outer end that forms an inactive tight inclusion complex with free molecules of rocuronium and vecuronium.

Although total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a commonly performed procedure, anesthetic efficacy in post-surgical pain remains an issue. Exparel (45mM liposome bupivacaine), a relatively long-acting local anesthetic, has shown efficacy in blocking peripheral nerve or periarticular infiltration to achieve better post-TKA analgesia. In the present work, we tested whether a fixed-dose combination of QX-OH (35mM) and levobupivacaine (10mM) (QX-OH/LB) could confer longer-lasting pain relief and reduce periarticular tissue toxicity compared to liposome bupivacaine (45mM) after TKA operation.

Background: Dexamethasone is a common adjuvant for local anesthetics in regional anesthesia, but the optimal route of administration is controversial. Therefore, we did a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials to assess the effect of perineural versus intravenous dexamethasone on local anesthetic regional nerve-blockade outcomes.

Materials And Methods: Medline (through PubMed), Embase, Cochrane, Web of Science, and Biosis Previews databases were systematically searched (published from inception of each database to January 1, 2017) to identify randomized controlled trials.

Hemi-sectioned spinal cord injury (hSCI) can lead to spastic paralysis on the injured side, as well as flaccid paralysis on the contralateral side, which can negatively affect a patient's daily life. Stem-cell therapy may offer an effective treatment option for individuals with hSCI. To examine the role of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) transplantation on hSCI and explore related mechanisms in the tree shrews, here, we created a model of hSCI by inducing injury at the tenth thoracic vertebra (T10).

Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is a chronic debilitating autoimmune blistering disease that frequently occurs in the elderly population. Previous studies have suggested a high morbidity and mortality associated with BP. However, relatively few studies have investigated prognostic factors of BP mortality, and they showed considerably various results.
