Background: LLNM can occur in mid-low rectal cancer, but LLND in patients with rectal cancer presents certain challenges. Recent years have seen the progressive application of ICG fluorescence imaging technology in colorectal surgery. This study aimed to explore the effectiveness of ICG-guided laparoscopic LLND for rectal cancer.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the surgical safety and postoperative quality of life (QOL) between two techniques, side overlap anastomosis (mSOA) and double-tract anastomosis (DTA), after laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy for patients with gastric cancer.
  • It included 43 patients, with findings showing no significant differences in surgical conditions or nutritional status between the two groups, but the mSOA group experienced lower rates of reflux esophagitis and better QOL one year post-surgery compared to the DTA group.
  • The conclusion suggests that while both methods are effective and safe, mSOA appears to offer advantages in reducing reflux and enhancing quality of life for postgastrect

Purpose: In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of camrelizumab combined with oxaliplatin plus S-1 in patients with resectable gastric or gastroesophageal junction cancer.

Methods: In this single-arm, phase II clinical trial, patients with locally advanced gastric or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma were enrolled to receive three cycles of neoadjuvant camrelizumab and oxaliplatin plus S-1 every 3 weeks, followed by surgical resection and adjuvant therapy with the same regimen. The primary endpoint was pathological complete response (pCR) (ypT0) rate and secondary endpoints were R0 resection rate, total pCR (tpCR, ypT0N0) rate, major pathological response (MPR) rate, downstaging, objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), event-free survival (EFS), overall survival (OS), and safety.

Article Synopsis
  • A study compared two surgical techniques (modified overlap anastomosis vs. conventional incision-assisted anastomosis) for laparoscopic total gastrectomy in gastric cancer patients at a hospital from 2016 to 2020.
  • The modified overlap group experienced less postoperative pain, quicker recovery milestones, and a shorter hospital stay, with no increased risk of complications compared to the conventional group.
  • Patient quality of life scores indicated fewer issues with swallowing and eating after three years in the modified overlap group, with no recurrences of cancer observed in this group.
