Ten previously undescribed megastigmane glycosides (1-5, 8-12) and four known compounds (6-7, 13-14) were isolated from the roots of Heterosmilax yunnanensis Gagnep. Their planar structures were determined by NMR, HRESIMS, UV and IR spectroscopic data. The absolute configurations were established through Rh(OCOCF)-induced ECD, quantum computational chemistry, experimental ECD and C chemical shift.

The detailed spectroscopic analysis helped to clarify the planar structures of these compounds. Compound 1, containing 7 chiral centers, features a catechin fused with a spiroketal and connects with a tryptophan derivative by a CC bond.

Their structures were elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR, HRESIMS, UV and IR. The isolated compounds were assessed for their cardioprotective activities and compounds 1, 3 and 6 could significantly improve cardiomyocytes viability.

Evidence suggests two hotspot single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the gene (rs1800795, -174C > G and rs1800796, -572G > C) might be associated with the susceptibility of EH. However, no consensus has yet been established.

This study aims to evaluate the anti-tumor and analgesic activities of Compound Kushen Injection(CKI) based on zebrafish model in vivo and investigate the anti-tumor mechanism. To be specific, zebrafish tumor xenotransplantation model was established by microinjection of murine LPC H12 cells into yolk sac. Then the high-dose CKI(H-CKI), medium-dose CKI(M-CKI), low-dose CKI(L-CKI) groups, and the model group were set.

Methods: Totally 117 patients with KOA who underwent arthroscopic debridement combined with injection from November 2015 to January 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different injection drugs, the patients were divided into sodium hyaluronate group(group A) and PRP group(group B).
A periodically forced Filippov forest-pest model incorporating threshold policy control and integrated pest management is proposed. It is very natural and reasonable to introduce Filippov non-smooth system into the ecosystem since there were many disadvantageous factors in pest control at fixed time and the threshold control according to state variable showed rewarding characteristics. The main aim of this paper is to quest the association between pests dynamics and system parameters especially the economical threshold , the amplitude and frequency of periodic forcing term.

An approach that has been developed to meet this challenge is the integrated pest management (IPM) strategy, which aims to offer environmentally sensitive solutions to pest problems, and takes into account the complex dynamics involved in the design of controlling pests. In this paper, we propose a discrete switching host-parasitoid model with a threshold control strategy, meanwhile, provide some qualitative analyses of the complexity of dynamic behaviors of the model that includes single and multi-parameter bifurcations and chaos.

Kushen (Radix Sophorae Flavescentis) has a long history of use for the treatment of tumors, inflammation and other diseases in traditional Chinese medicine. Compound Kushen Injection (CKI) is a mixture of natural compounds extracted from Kushen and Baituling (Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae). The main principles of CKI are matrine (MT) and oxymatrine (OMT) that exhibit a variety of pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, anti-viral, anti-fibrotic and cardiovascular protective effects.

Aims: This study aimed to investigate the effect of metamizole on bupropion hydroxylation related to different CYP2B6 genotype groups in healthy volunteers.
Methods: Sixteen healthy male volunteers (6 CYP2B6*1/*1, 6 CYP2B6*1/*6 and 4 CYP2B6*6/*6) received orally administered bupropion alone and during daily treatment with metamizole 1500 mg day(-1) (500 mg tablet taken three times daily) for 4 days. Serial blood samples were obtained up to 48 h after each bupropion dose.
Objective: To study the chemical constituents of Heterosmilax yunianensis.
Methods: The compounds were isolated and repeatedly purified with chromatograph and the structures were elucidated by physico-chemical properties and spectral analysis.
Results: Eight compounds were obtained and elucidated as beta-sitosterol (I), glycerol monopalmitate (II), daucosterol (IIl), hexacosanoic acid (IV), 5-hydroxymethyl furaldehyde (V), hergapen (VI), ursolic acid (VII), liquiritigenin (VIII).
