Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) are abundant components of the tumor microenvironment (TME) of most solid malignancies and have emerged as key regulators of cancer progression and therapy response. Although recent technological advances have uncovered substantial CAF molecular heterogeneity at the single-cell level, defining functional roles for most described CAF populations remains challenging. With the aim of bridging CAF molecular and functional heterogeneity, this review focuses on recently identified functional interactions of CAF subtypes with malignant cells, immune cells, and other stromal cells in primary tumors and metastases.

Date Synthesis: Randomized controlled trials comparing inclisiran with a placebo were searched until April 2024. Overall, 8 studies involving 4947 patients were included.
Background: Coronary sinus reducer (CSR) implantation is emerging as a novel effective percutaneous therapy for patients with refractory angina. Limited data exists examining the factors influencing successful CSR implantation. As CSR implantation becomes more widely adopted, a greater understanding of the procedural challenges which operators encounter is required.

Study Design: Retrospective analysis of electronic health record data from children screened for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using POSI at the 18- and 24- month pediatric well-child care (WCC) visits across Southern California Permanente Medical Group facilities throughout the 2022 calendar year. Data on ASD diagnoses placed in the electronic health record problem list were analyzed 1 year later (until the end of 2023) to calculate sensitivity, specificity, and positive/negative likelihood ratio (LR+ and LR-) values.
Immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is characterized by a reduction in platelet counts, stemming from an autoimmune-mediated process where platelets are excessively cleared by macrophages. RPF2 plays a crucial role in promoting epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and regulating metastasis in colorectal cancer (CRC). By analyzing data from the TCGA and GEO databases, we observed significantly elevated RPF2 expression in CRC, which correlated with EMT markers. Further investigations using stable RPF2 overexpression and knockdown cell lines demonstrated that RPF2 facilitates EMT activation through the AKT/GSK-3β signaling pathway.

Purpose: Osteoradionecrosis (ORN) is a feared complication after head and neck radiation, but the incidence and radiotherapy risk factors for ORN in children are unknown. In this retrospective analysis of a prospectively collected dataset, we evaluated the incidence and factors associated with development of ORN in children treated with proton therapy for head and neck malignancies.
Methods And Materials: We reviewed records from patients treated at a single institution between December 2006 and February 2020 including demographic data, tumor, and treatment details, ORN occurrence, and dosimetry.
