This study aims to investigate the clinical effect of the combined an additional locking plate with bone graft based on retaining the original intramedullary nail for the treatment of lower limb nonunion.From June 2008 to December 2012, 39 patients were admitted and treated, who developed non-infectious bone nonunion after intramedullary nail fixation for long bone fracture in the lower limb. Additional locking plate and autogenous iliac bone grafting were performed for these patients, in which the original intramedullary nail was retained.
