Background: The profitability of the beef industry is directly influenced by the fertility rate and reproductive performance of both males and females, which can be improved through selective breeding. When performing genomic analyses, genetic markers located on the X chromosome have been commonly ignored despite the X chromosome being one of the largest chromosomes in the cattle genome. Therefore, the primary objectives of this study were to: (1) estimate variance components and genetic parameters for eighteen male and five female fertility and reproductive traits in Nellore cattle including X chromosome markers in the analyses; and (2) perform genome-wide association studies and functional genomic analyses to better understand the genetic background of male and female fertility and reproductive performance traits in Nellore cattle.

Objective: Currently, Ga-labeled somatostatin analogs (SSAs) are the most commonly used imaging agents for patients with neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) in clinical practice, demonstrating good results in tumor diagnosis. For applications in peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT), targeted drugs should have high tumor uptake and prolonged tumor retention time. Spiramycin and its derivatives are commonly used antimicrobials, and its derivative, carrimycin, has recently been found to have good anticancer potential. Here, we found that the 4''-OH of spiramycin can be selectively acylated, resulting in a series of novel spiramycin derivatives with a structure similar to carrimycin. Anticancer studies showed that most of the derivatives exhibited moderate to good anti-proliferative activity against four cancer cell lines, including HGC-27, HT-29, HCT-116 and HeLa, especially compound 14, which has the strongest activity against HGC-27 cells with an IC value of 0.

Pleuronota rufosquamosa (Fairmaire, 1893) is a little-known flower beetle from southern China and northern Vietnam, and due to taxonomic changes, the genus Pleuronota Kraatz, 1892 and the species became new records of China. Morphological characteristics of adults are redescribed. Descriptions of the 3rd instar larvae and pupae are also provided, and the morphological differences of the larvae are compared with four genera of the subtribe Taenioderina.

An adaptive event-triggered security control method is proposed for networked robotic teleoperation systems subject to time-varying delays and false data injection (FDI) attacks. An event-triggered scheme is designed via the position and velocity signals of the master and slave robots, where the triggering thresholds can change adaptively with the system states. The limitations of commonly used sodium ascorbate-based catalyst system for copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction include excess production of reactive oxygen species and rapid catalyst deactivation. In this study instead of using a highly active reducing agent, such as, sodium ascorbate, we chose reducing sugar as a mild reducing agent to build up the catalyst system for CuAAC reaction. Taking advantage of key interactions between sulfoxide and heme cofactor, we used the sulfoxide as the anchor functional group to develop two series of indoleamine 2, 3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) inhibitors: 2-benzylsulfinylbenzoxazoles (series 1) and 2-phenylsulfinylbenzoxazoles (series 2). In vitro enzymatic screening shows that both series can inhibit the activity of IDO1 in low micromolar (series 1) or nanomolar (series 2) levels. They also show inhibitory selectivity between IDO1 and tryptophan 2, 3-dioxygenase 2.
