Background: The healing and remodeling process of tendon grafts after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (ACLR) has received significant attention. This study aims to identify preoperative factors associated with postoperative signal intensity of the ACL graft after primary ACLR.

Methods: A total of 90 patients underwent primary ACLR using hamstring tendon autografts by the same senior surgeon between January 2013 and December 2020 were included.

Article Synopsis
  • * The study found that the maximal outcome improvement (MOI) thresholds at mid-term follow-up were 35.1% for the Lysholm score and 46.7% for the IKDC score, with factors such as time from injury to surgery and sex influencing these outcomes.
  • * Those who waited longer than 6 months to undergo surgery had lower odds of meeting the MOI thresholds, while male patients had higher odds of achieving the IKDC threshold,

Background: Reduced graft failure rates have been reported after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction combined with anterolateral complex (ALC) augmentation. However, the preoperative diagnosis of concomitant ALC injury remains a clinical challenge.

Purpose: To identify the altered rotational tibiofemoral position on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in ACL-injured patients with concomitant ALC injury.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates how chronic anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries affect tibiofemoral positions after ACL reconstruction surgery, using MRI assessments.
  • - Two patient groups were compared: those with acute injuries (surgery within 6 weeks) and those with chronic injuries (surgery after 1 year), considering various pre- and postoperative tibial positions like LATS, MATS, GATS, and IRTS.
  • - Results indicated chronic ACL injuries led to worse postoperative tibiofemoral alignment, showing increased MATS and GATS, while acute injuries experienced improvements in certain positions post-surgery.

This paper presents a scheme for the enhancement of silicon solar cells in terms of luminescent emission band and photovoltaic performance. The proposed devices are coated with an luminescent down-shifting (LDS) layer comprising three species of europium (Eu)-doped phosphors mixed within a silicate film (SiO₂) using a spin-on film deposition. The three species of phosphor were mixed at ratios of 0.

This study characterized the electrical and optical properties of single-junction GaAs solar cells coated with antireflective layers of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), indium tin oxide (ITO), and a hybrid layer of SiO₂/ITO applied using Radio frequency (RF) sputtering. The conductivity and transparency of the ITO film were characterized prior to application on GaAs cells. Reverse saturation-current and ideality factor were used to evaluate the passivation performance of the various coatings on GaAs solar cells.

The effects of crop rotation on sorghum [Sorghum biocolor (L) Moench] growth, rhizosphere microbial community and the activity of soil enzymes for successive crops of sorghum were evaluated. Five years of continuous monoculture sorghum as the control (CK) was compared to alfalfa and scallion planted in the fourth year. The results showed that incorporation of alfalfa and scallion into the rotation significantly improved sorghum shoot growth.
