To explore the method of obtaining the key parameters of the average value articulator in healthy people based on mandibular movement trajectory data, with a view to providing a reference for the clinical application of the average value articulator. One hundred healthy volunteers (42 males and 58 females) with individual normal occlusion, aged 18-55 years old, who met the inclusion criteria were recruited from Beijing, and their mandibular movement trajectory data were collected. The left and right sagittal condylar inclination(SCI) and transversal condylar inclination(TCI) were obtained from the values of the articulator parameters which were generated in the mandibular movement analysis system.

  • Acute hepatitis E virus (HEV) infection is a significant global health issue leading to high rates of illness and death; this study focused on the clinical features and outcomes of affected patients.
  • Researchers analyzed data from 628 patients diagnosed with acute HEV from 2014 to 2022, noting that most were middle-aged males and observed elevated liver enzymes and bilirubin levels.
  • Key findings revealed that patients with liver cirrhosis had worse outcomes, with liver cirrhosis and low albumin levels identified as major predictors of poor prognosis in acute HEV cases.

  • The study investigates the relationship between the size and location of necrotic lesions in early-stage osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) to improve joint-preserving treatments.
  • Researchers analyzed CT images from 143 patients diagnosed with stage I and II ONFH, reconstructing three-dimensional models to determine the necrotic lesions' size and location.
  • Results show that smaller lesions are mostly found in the anterior and medial regions of the femoral head, while larger lesions expand to involve more areas, particularly the lateral and inferior regions.

Introduction: The connection between aging and cancer is complex. Previous research has highlighted the association between the aging process of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) cells and the immune response, yet there remains a gap in confirming this through single-cell data validation. Here, we aim to develop a novel aging-related prognostic model for LUAD, and verify the alterations in the genome and immune microenvironment linked to cellular senescence.

To investigate the treatment outcomes of combined internal and external fixation surgery for patients with posterior lateral tibial plateau fractures and explore its safety. The study was conducted from February 2020 to February 2023 and included a total of 77 patients with Schatzker IV and Schatzker V type posterior lateral tibial plateau fractures. Patients were divided into control group and treatment group according to different treatment methods: the control group with 38 cases received treatment with dual-support plates, and the study group with 39 cases received treatment with internal fixation using medial plates combined with lateral locking plates.

  • Prussian blue analogues (PBAs) are gaining interest for aqueous zinc-based batteries due to their structure, adjustable redox potential, and ease of synthesis, but they struggle with low capacity and poor cycle performance.
  • The study focuses on a specially designed crystalline potassium iron hexacyanoferrate (FeHCF) using a PVP additive, which enhances its electrochemical properties by creating dislocations in the crystal structure.
  • The improved FeHCF shows a reversible capacity of 131 mAh/g and maintains 85% capacity after 550 cycles, making it a promising cathode for high-performance AZBs with a voltage of 2.6 V and excellent cycle stability.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is difficult to cure and easy to relapse, leading to poor quality of life for patients. Oxymatrine (OMT) is one of the main alkaloids of Aiton, which has many effects, such as anti-inflammation, anti-oxidative stress, and immunosuppression. This study aimed to investigate whether OMT could attenuate ulcerative colitis by inhibiting the NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing three (NLRP3) inflammasome-mediated pyroptosis.

The unsatisfactory efficacy of immunotherapy for colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a major challenge for clinicians and patients. The tumor microenvironment may promote CRC progression by upregulating the expression of hypoxia-inducing factor (HIF) and PD-L1. Therefore, this study explored the expression and correlation of HIF-1α and PD-L1 in the CRC microenvironment.

High-temperature ceramics polymer dielectric nanocomposite materials have broad application prospects in energy storage. The barium titanate (BT) plays an important role as one of outstanding representative ceramics in the dielectric nanocomposite materials. However, there is little known for the effects of two-dimensional (2D) BT morphology and layout on the properties of high-temperature nanocomposite materials.

Controversy remains regarding the optimal treatment for stage III Osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH). This study presents, for the first time, the precise treatment of stage III ONFH using the "substitute the beam for a pillar" technique and performs a comparative finite element analysis with other hip-preserving procedures. A formalin-preserved femur of male cadavers was selected to obtain the CT scan data of femur.

An endophytic bacterium Paenibacillus polymyxa DS-R5 which can effectively inhibit the growth of pathogenic fungi was isolated from Salvia miltiorrhiza in our previous study. By using hydrochloric acid precipitation, methanol extraction, silica gel column isolation, dextran gel chromatography column, and HPLC, 3 compounds with antifungal activity were isolated. To further improve the production of antifungal compounds produced by this strain, fermentation medium was optimized using one-factor-at-a-time, Plackett-Burman design, and Box-Behnken design experiments.

This study aimed to elucidate the unique chemical compositions of plasma-activated water (PAW) and the potential antibacterial efficacy of PAW as a novel vaginal cleanser. We analyzed the ion compositions (four anions: F, Cl, NO, SO; five cations: Na, NH, K, Mg, Ca) of several formulations of PAW generated at different electrical powers (12 and 24 V) at various treatment time points (1, 10, and 20 min), and stay durations (immediate, 30, and 60 min). As treatment duration increased, hypochlorous acid (HOCl), Ca, and Mg concentrations increased and Cl concentration decreased.

This paper deals with the appealing problem of fixed-time fault-tolerant attitude control, using attitude-information-only, for a flexible spacecraft under the influence of inertial parametric variations, external disturbances, and multiple actuator faults while suppressing the flexible appendages' vibrations without using additional sensors or smart vibration suppression actuators. First, an adaptive fixed-time model-free observer (AFTMFO) is designed, using the attitude information, for rapid estimation of unavailable angular velocity. A novel adaptive continuous control is then synthesized based on an anti-unwinding fast fixed-time nonsingular sliding surface (AFFTNSS), utilizing variable gains in both the control law and sliding surface; that simultaneously alleviates the chattering but also improves the convergence speed when compared to existing fixed-time approaches.

Background: To assess the clinical and safety outcomes of endovascular treatment (EVT) administered more than 24 h after the onset of symptoms in patients with acute ischemic stroke resulting from anterior circulation large-vessel occlusion or stenosis (AIS-ACLVO/S).

Methods: We enrolled consecutive AIS-ACLVO/S patients who received EVT in our hospital between January 2019 and February 2022 and divided them into two groups based on the time from AIS onset to EVT: EVT < 24 h group and EVT >24 h group. The successful reperfusion (modified thrombolysis in cerebral infarction, [mTICI] ≥2b), 90-day modified Rankin Scale score (mRS), intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), and symptomatic ICH (sICH), as well as mortality, were analyzed in the two groups of patients.

Article Synopsis
  • Current treatments for advanced gastric cancer (GC) are ineffective due to the lack of reliable targets, which has led researchers to focus on the 3'-untranslated region (3'-UTR) as a potential drug target.
  • Experiments revealed that the 3'-UTR plays a significant role in the invasion and metastasis of GC cells, outperforming the FN1 protein in promoting these aggressive behaviors.
  • A new regulatory network involving the 3'UTR, let-7i-5p, and THBS1 was identified, suggesting that targeting the 3'-UTR may provide better therapeutic options for GC than targeting FN1.
