We present techniques for performing two-qubit gates on Gottesman-Kitaev-Preskill (GKP) codes with finite energy, and find that operations designed for ideal infinite-energy codes create undesired entanglement when applied to physically realistic states. We demonstrate that this can be mitigated using recently developed local error-correction protocols, and evaluate the resulting performance. We also propose energy-conserving finite-energy gate implementations which largely avoid the need for further correction.

Background: The Integrated Treatment Pathway Stroke Tyrol was introduced for the care of people after an acute stroke event and includes four phases: acute prehospital care, inpatient treatment, inpatient rehabilitation and ambulatory, outpatient rehabilitation. For the 4th phase, the ambulatory rehabilitation of patients after discharge, the ICT platform "StrokeNet Tyrol" was established.

Methods: Requirements and processes along the pathway and between the interdisciplinary team were taken into account for implementation based on a modular software architecture.

We have developed a new compact and cost-efficient Laser-Raman system for the simultaneous measurement of all six hydrogen isotopologues. The focus of this research was set on producing a tool that can be implemented in virtually any existing setup providing in situ process control and analytics. The "micro Raman (µRA)" system is completely fiber-coupled for an easy setup consisting of (i) a spectrometer/CCD unit, (ii) a 532 nm laser, and (iii) a commercial Raman head coupled with a newly developed, tritium-compatible all-metal sealed DN16CF flange/Raman window serving as the process interface.

Highly accurate, quantitative analyses of mixtures of hydrogen isotopologues-both the stable species, H, D, and HD, and the radioactive species, T, HT, and DT-are of great importance in fields as diverse as deuterium-tritium fusion, neutrino mass measurements using tritium β-decay, or for photonuclear experiments in which hydrogen-deuterium targets are used. In this publication we describe a production, handling, and analysis facility capable of fabricating well-defined gas samples, which may contain any of the stable and radioactive hydrogen isotopologues, with sub-percent accuracy for the relative species concentrations. The production is based on precise manometric gas mixing of H, D, and T.

Aims: It remains unclear whether transitional care management outside of a clinical trial setting provides benefits for patients with acute heart failure (AHF) after hospitalization. We evaluated the feasibility and effectiveness of a multidimensional post-discharge disease management programme using a telemedical monitoring system incorporated in a comprehensive network of heart failure nurses, resident physicians, and secondary and tertiary referral centres (HerzMobil Tirol, HMT), METHODS AND RESULTS: The non-randomized study included 508 AHF patients that were managed in HMT (n = 251) or contemporaneously in usual care (UC, n = 257) after discharge from hospital from 2016 to 2019. Nondestructive quantum measurements are central for quantum physics applications ranging from quantum sensing to quantum computing and quantum communication. Employing the toolbox of cavity quantum electrodynamics, we here concatenate two identical nondestructive photon detectors to repeatedly detect and track a single photon propagating through a 60 m long optical fiber. By demonstrating that the combined signal-to-noise ratio of the two detectors surpasses each single one by about 2 orders of magnitude, we experimentally verify a key practical benefit of cascaded nondemolition detectors compared to conventional absorbing devices.

While it is commonly believed that unconditional teleportation requires a preshared entangled qubit pair, here we demonstrate a protocol that is in principle unconditional and requires only a single photon as an ex-ante prepared resource.
