The mechanism, temperature, and timescale of granite intrusion remain controversial, with wide-ranging implications for understanding continental growth, differentiation, rheology, and deformation dynamics. In this paper we present a method for determining intrusion emplacement temperature and timescale using the characteristics of the surrounding metamorphic aureole, and apply it to the Skiddaw granite in northern England. The estimated emplacement timescale (0.

The number, duration and depth of social relationships that an individual maintains can impact social cognition, but the connection between sociality and other aspects of cognition has hardly been explored. To date, the link between social living and intelligence has been mainly supported by studies on primates, and far fewer tests connecting sociality to cognitive abilities have used other taxa. Here, we present the first comparative study in fishes that examines whether complex social living is associated with better performance on a cognitively demanding spatial task.

The data presented in this article are related to the research article entitled "Neo-Eneolithic settlement pattern and salt exploitation in Romanian Moldavia" (Brigand and Weller, 2018) [1]. Kernel density estimation (KDE) is used in order to move beyond the discrete distribution of sites and to enable us to work on a continuous surface that reflects the intensity of the occupation in the space. Maps of density per period - Neolithic I (Cris), Neolithic II (LBK), Eneolithic I (Precucuteni), Eneolithic II (Cucuteni A), Eneolithic III-IV (Cucuteni A-B and B) - are used to create maps of density difference (Figs.

The contribution of histologic differentiation between primary and secondary Sertoli-cell-only (SCO) syndrome in azoospermic men was evaluated. No correlation was found between the presence of sperm cells in the testis and the histologic findings or inhibin B or FSH levels, suggesting a low prognostic value for this differentiation.

Morpholino and cyanomorpholino derivatives of the anthracycline antitumor antibiotics, Adriamycin (ADM) and daunomycin (DNM), differ from their parent compounds in potency, cross-resistance and other biological properties. We therefore investigated the DNA interactions of several derivatives of ADM and DNM, including iminomorpholinoadriamycin, oxazolocyanomorpholinoadriamycin, (OCADM), and cyanomethyladriamycin (CMeADM). This work complements previous studies on morpholinodaunomycin (MoDNM), morpholinoadriamycin (MoADM), and cyanomorpholinoadriamycin (CNMoADM).

Derivatives of 2-amino-2-deoxyglucose covalently connected to aminopropyl-silica gel were used as chiral selectors in the separation of racemic pharmaceuticals. beta-Receptor blockers, adrenergic drugs and compounds with secondary amino functions could be separated after appropriate derivatization.
