Introduction: Biomineralization has been increasingly adopted for the synthesis of advanced materials with superior properties. Hierarchical architecture growth mimicking biomineralization has been studied using various organic molecules to template inorganic materials with controlled morphology. In our previous study, self-assembled Sr/CS/G(SrCO-chitosan-gelatin) aggregates were fabricated using electrophoretic deposition (EPD).

This study aimed to assess left ventricle (LV) dysfunction using three-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (3D-STI) in CKD patients.
Methods: A total of 110 CKD patients and 55 healthy volunteers underwent echocardiography.
Background: Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is commonly used to downstage the tumor in locally advanced colon cancer (LACC) and improve the R0 resection rate. Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT) is the standard treatment for locally advanced rectal and esophageal cancers, but its benefits in LACC remain poorly understood. This study aimed to compare the effects and safety of NACRT and NACT on R0 resection and survival rates in initially unresectable LACC.

There are diverse biomaterials and drug treatments for oral ulcers used in both research and clinical settings. However, the complex oral environment often results in low adhesion and short drug retention times, which lead to poor drug availability and treatment outcomes.

The hospital admitted a 3-day-old female infant presenting with persistent facial cyanosis and hypoxic symptoms, and echocardiography revealed a congenitally unguarded tricuspid valve orifice with an atrial septal defect. After being followed up until the age of one and a half years, the child underwent bidirectional Glenn's surgery and achieved successful survival.

Although some researchers have attempted to apply radiomics in this context, there is ongoing debate regarding its accuracy.
Methods: Databases of PubMed, Cochrane, EMBASE, and Web of Science up to May 29, 2024 were systematically searched.
Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT) was the standard treatment for patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) with proficient mismatch repair (pMMR) proteins. In this randomized phase 2 trial (ClinicalTrial.gov: NCT04304209), 134 pMMR LARC patients were randomly (1:1) assigned to receive NACRT or NACRT and the programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) antibody sintilimab.

Background: Patients with Turner syndrome (TS) face an increased risk of developing aortic dilatation (AD), but diagnosing AD in children presents greater complexity compared to adults. This study aimed to investigate the application of various assessment indicators of AD in Chinese children and adolescents with TS.
Methods: This study included TS patients admitted to Shenzhen Children's Hospital from 2017 to 2022.
This study reported a case of early-onset parkinsonism associated with a novel variant of the PLA2G6 gene. The boy first started showing symptoms at the age of 11, with gait instability and frequent falls. As the disease progressed, his gait instability worsened, and he developed difficulties with swallowing and speaking, although there was no apparent decline in cognitive function.

However, immunodiagnostic reagents for human adenovirus are limited. This study aimed to develop efficient diagnostic reagents based on monoclonal antibodies for diagnosing various human adenovirus infections.

Objectives: We aimed to investigate the differences in the clinical characteristics and prognosis in stage III rectal cancer (RC), to help optimize treatment strategies.
Design And Methods: This study included 757 patients with stage III RC, all of whom received neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and total mesorectal excision.
Following the publication of the above article, the authors drew to our attention that they had made a couple of inadvertent errors in assembling Figs. 4 and 5; first, for the BT‑549 cell line, the data shown for the Pro‑caspase‑1/Cleaved caspase‑1 in Fig. 5 and the GSDMD‑F/GSDMD‑N data in Fig.

To address global climate change, achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality has become a global consensus. However, the means to simultaneously achieve carbon reduction and promote green economic development, particularly in developing countries, require further investigation. This study evaluates the impact of e-commerce on CO emissions.

Receptor activity modifying protein 1 (RAMP1) facilitates the localization of the calcitonin-like receptor (CLR) to the plasma membrane, but its role in osteosarcoma (OS) remains unclear. We evaluated the RAMP1 expression and prognostic value across different cancers, studying tumor immune infiltration. The prognostic value was analyzed using the GSE39058 and TARGET datasets.

This study is the first to explore exosomal miR-548x-3p derived from human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in the pyroptosis of vascular endothelial cells (VECs) associated with HS. Human BMSCs-derived exosome alleviated the injury of the heart, liver, kidney and ileum tissues, the increase of IL-1β, IL-18 and TNF-α levels, pyroptosis of endothelial cells and the increase of HGMB1, NLRP3, ASC, caspase1 and GSDMD-N protein expression in HS mice and HS-induced human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs).

The aim of the present study was to explore the associations between AZU1 and BC. In the present study, bioinformatics and western blot analyses were applied to detect the expression level of AZU1 in BC tissues.

Ohno proposed that XDC is achieved by two-fold upregulations of X-linked genes in both sexes and by silencing one X chromosome (X chromosome inactivation, XCI) in females. However, genes subject to two-fold upregulations as well as the underlying mechanism remain unclear.

In this study, a "perivascular tissue (PVT) deprivation" animal model is constructed to mimic clinical scenarios and identify the contribution of arterial PVT to the success of vein grafts. Proteomics analysis suggests that depriving PVT may exacerbate reactive oxygen species (ROS)-induced endothelial apoptosis by up-regulating inflammation response and oxidative stress.
