Objectives: To investigate the phenotypic heterogeneity of tissue-resident synovial fibroblasts and their role in inflammatory response in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
Methods: We used single-cell and spatial transcriptomics to profile synovial cells and spatial gene expressions of synovial tissues to identify phenotypic changes in patients with osteoarthritis, RA in sustained remission and active state. Immunohistology, multiplex immunofluorescence and flow cytometry were used to identify synovial fibroblasts subsets.
Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) is a leading cause of Periprosthetic joint infection (PJI), a severe complication after joint arthroplasty. Immunosuppression is a major factor contributing to the infection chronicity of S.

This study aims to investigate the association between TH levels and OA, analyze the effect of triiodothyronine on hypertrophic chondrocyte differentiation and OA progression, and identify potential target genes of triiodothyronine in OA to evaluate its diagnostic value.
Methods: Two-sample mendelian randomization method was used to probe the causal links between hyperthyroidism and OA.
Molluscum contagiosum (MC) is a common viral infection that affects the skin of children. In this study, treatment regimens and demographic information for MC patients across US medical specialties were compared. We discovered an average of 471,383 pediatric MC visits annually using the National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey database from 2000 to 2016.

This study aims to investigate the contribution of Mo/Mp clusters to RA activity, and the biological function of particular subtypes in RA remission.
Methods: We integrated single-cell RNA sequencing datasets from 4 published and 1 in-house studies using Liger selected by comparison.
Objectives: Cutaneous diseases that disproportionately affect patients with darker pigmentation and their histologic features are historically understudied and undertreated. This review article aims to highlight the key clinical features, histopathology, and diagnostic pearls of several cutaneous diseases that commonly present in patients with darker pigmentation.
Methods: A literature search was conducted, and a list of cutaneous diseases that frequently affect patients with darker pigmentation was compiled.
Objective: Irrigation is a conventional treatment for acute and chronic periprosthetic joint infections (PJI). However, there has been no unified standard for irrigation during surgery for PJI in the past, and the efficacy is uncertain. The purpose of this study is to create a new irrigation protocol to enhance the infection control rate and reduce the postoperative recurrence rate of PJI patients.

Here, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and single-cell assay for transposase-accessible chromatin sequencing (scATAC-seq) data were integrated to reveal the transcriptional and epigenomic landscape of ACL in normal and OA states. We identified a novel subpopulation of fibroblasts in ACL, which provides new insights into the role of the ACL in knee homeostasis and disease.

Objective: To better understand rosacea patient's primary concerns for the disease as well as their disease search patterns online.
Methods: Overall, 207,038 posts by 41,400 users were collected from June 1, 2017, to June 1, 2022, in a popular online forum.
This paper reports a new type of nanoimprinting method called Bi-layer nanoimprinting lithography (BL-NIL), which can work along with metal-assisted chemical etching (MaCE) for fabricating nanostructures on silicon. In contrast to conventional nanoimprinting techniques, BL-NIL adds an interposing layer between the imprinting resist layer and silicon substrate. After the standard imprinting process, dry etching was used to etch away the residual imprinting layer and part of the interposing layer.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAseptic prosthesis loosening (APL) is one of the most prevalent complications associated with arthroplasty. The main cause is the periprosthetic osteolysis induced by wear particles. However, the specific mechanisms of crosstalk between immune cells and osteoclasts/osteoblasts during osteolysis are unclear.

Case Presentation: A 73-year-old male with a history of acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) of the right great toe presented to our clinic for evaluation of positive surgical margins. The positive margin was localized for examination and subsequent biopsy with reflectance confocal microscopy (RCM) which allowed targeted re-resection of the area of concern.
Inflammatory osteolysis induced by wear particles is the major cause of prosthetic loosening after artificial joint replacement, and its prevention and treatment are difficult worldwide. Our previous study confirmed that sphingosine kinases (SPHKs) are important mediators regulating the wear particle-induced macrophage inflammatory response. However, it is unclear whether SPHKs can modulate chronic inflammation and alleviate osteolysis.

No single biomarker can accurately recognize PJI preoperatively in a timely manner. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the usefulness of the serum neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in aiding the diagnosis of chronic PJI.

Insights into biomarkers and mechanisms of response and toxicity to CICB are needed. To address this, we profiled the blood, tumor and gut microbiome of 77 patients with advanced melanoma treated with CICB, with a high rate of any ≥grade 3 immune-related adverse events (49%) with parallel studies in pre-clinical models.
