Methods: A network pharmacological-based analysis method was used to screen the active components and predict the potential mechanisms of QHF in treating B cell lymphoma.

Novel Genes Potentially Involved in Fibroblasts of Diabetic Wound.

Fibroblasts are the essential cell type of skin, highly involved in the wound regeneration process. In this study, we sought to screen out the novel genes which act important roles in diabetic fibroblasts through bioinformatic methods. A total of 811 and 490 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between diabetic and normal fibroblasts were screened out in GSE49566 and GSE78891, respectively.

[Effective medicinal ingredients and screening of excellent germplasm in Rubus chingii].

In order to provide rationale for selection of good germplasm in Rubus chingii, main effective medicinal ingredients of green fruit such as gallic acid, ellagic acid, kaempferol-3-rutinoside, astragalin and tiliroside were measured using UPLC for the samples collected from Chun'an county of Zhejiang province, and such parameters as soluble solid contents of ripe fruit of some samples were also measured to study variation among individuals and correlation. It has been found that there were differences among individuals in the contents of gallic acid, ellagic acid, kaempferol-3-rutinoside, astragalin and tiliroside, which ranged from 0.010 2%-0.

Adjuvant Chemotherapy with Chinese Herbal Medicine Formulas Versus Placebo in Patients with Lung Adenocarcinoma after Radical Surgery: a Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial.

Background: The toxicity and side effects caused by adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) after radical surgery for lung adenocarcinoma (LAC) lead to early termination frequently. This study was conducted to provide an objective basis for the effect of Chinese herbal medicine formulas (CHMFs) combined with chemotherapy in reducing toxicity and enhancing efficacy of ACT.

Method: From February 17th, 2012 to March 20th, 2015, 233 patients from 7 hospitals diagnosed with LAC in IB~IIIA stage were randomly assigned into ACT + CHMF group (116 patients) and ACT + placebo group (117 patients).

Chinese Herbal Medicine Combined With EGFR-TKI in EGFR Mutation-Positive Advanced Pulmonary Adenocarcinoma (CATLA): A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Trial.

To determine the clinical activity and safety of Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) combined with epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKI) in patients with advanced pulmonary adenocarcinoma (ADC) and the ability of CHM combined with EGFR-TKI to activate EGFR mutations. Three hundred and fifty-four patients were randomly assigned to EGFR-TKI (erlotinib 150 mg/d, gefitinib 250 mg/d, or icotinib 125 mg tid/d) plus CHM (TKI+CHM, = 185) or EGFR-TKI plus placebo (TKI+placebo, = 169). Progression-free survival (PFS) was the primary end point; the secondary end points were overall survival (OS), objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), quality of life [Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Lung (FACT-L) and Lung Cancer Symptom Scale (LCSS)], and safety.

Maintenance Chemotherapy With Chinese Herb Medicine Formulas vs. With Placebo in Patients With Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer After First-Line Chemotherapy: A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind Trial.

Chinese Herb Medicine Formulas (CHMF) was reported to improve the quality of life (QoL) in advanced NSCLC patients. The present study was designed to investigate whether maintenance chemotherapy plus CHMF in patients would improve QoL and progression-free survival (PFS). Seventy-one patients were enrolled from 8 medical centers in China, and were randomly assigned to a maintenance chemotherapy plus CHMF group ( = 35) or a maintenance chemotherapy plus placebo group ( = 36).

Traditional Chinese medicinal herbs combined with epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor for advanced non-small cell lung cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Background: Epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) targeted treatment has been a standard therapy for advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but it is not tolerated well by all patients. In China, some studies have reported that traditional Chinese medicinal herbs (TCMHs) may increase efficacy and reduce toxicity when combined with EGFR-TKI, but outside of China few studies of this kind have been attempted.

Objective: This study is intended to systematically review the existing clinical evidence on TCMHs combined with EGFR-TKI for treatment of advanced NSCLC.

Objective: Macroautophagy increases with age in rat intervertebral discs; however, the effect of macroautophagy on the process of intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) is still unclear. The aim of this study was to examine the presence of autophagosome, as well as the levels of Beclin-1 and LC3 proteins, in vivo. Additionally, in vitro evidence of macroautophagy and GRP78 and GADD153 protein levels were investigated to explore the mechanism of macroautophagy in the process of IVDD.

Objective: Excessive apoptosis plays an important role in the progression of intervertebral disc degeneration. However, the effect of autophagy, another type of programmed cell death, on the pathogenesis of disc degeneration is still unclear. Macroautophagy and chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) change and intervertebral disc degeneration aggravates with age.

[Dishen Qufeng Decoction for treating allergic rhinitis: a randomized controlled trial].

Objective: To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of Dishen Qufeng Decoction (DSQFD), a compound traditional Chinese herbal medicine, in treatment of allergic rhinitis.

Methods: Sixty cases of allergic rhinitis were selected and randomized into DSQFD group (30 cases) and cetirizine group (30 cases), and the patients were orally administered DSQFD and cetirizine respectively. The integrals of patients' symptoms, such as sneezing, nose running, nasal occlusion and nasal itching, signs in the nasal conchae and peripheral blood eosinophil (EOS) count were abserved count before and after treatment.

[Clinical research of intraperitoneal chemotherapy plus Shenmai Injection in treating advanced colorectal cancer].

Objective: To study the effects of intraperitoneal chemotherapy (IPC) plus Shenmai Injection (SMI) in treating advanced colorectal cancer following radical resections.

Methods: Fifty-eight cases of colorectal cancer in stage B2 and C following radical resections were divided into two groups: SMI+IPC group (36 cases) and IPC group (22 cases). In the SMI+IPC group, IPC (5-fluorouracil combined with cisplatin) plus SMI was administered, while in the IPC group, only IPC was administered.
