Group IIIA-VA metal sulfides (GMSs) have attracted increasing attention because of their unique Na-storage mechanisms through combined conversion and alloying reactions, thus delivering large theoretical capacities and low working potentials. However, Na diffusion within GMSs anodes leads to severe volume change, generally representing a fundamental limitation to rate capability and cycling stability. Here, monodispersed In S /nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon hollow microspindles (In S /NSC HMS) are produced by morphology-preserved thermal sulfurization of spindle-like and porous indium-based metal organic frameworks.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFine particulate matter (PM) is a current environmental issue that has an impact on the global ecology. Vegetation is a known sink for PM deposition but the effects of these particles on plant growth, and specifically on plant photosynthesis by changing their leaf water potential, are still not well understood. This study aimed to determine and characterize possible relationships between PM and plant photosynthesis under different PM concentrations.

Increasing evidence has demonstrated the modulatory role of autophagy in ischemic heart diseases (IHDs). Traditionally, this process has been recognized as having protective functions, such as inhibiting atherosclerosis progression and reducing cell death during the ischemic phase.
