Background: Coptidis Rhizoma, a classic bitter traditional Chinese medicine, can lead to digestive dysfunction when long-term use according to traditional experience. Bitter taste receptors have been found to regulate gastrointestinal smooth muscle contraction. Coptidis Rhizoma alkaloids are potential agonists for bitter taste receptors, but whether they can induce gastrointestinal dysfunction via bitter taste receptors is not clear.

Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) is expressed when cells are induced or stimulated by proinflammatory cytokines and/or bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS). iNOS is a downstream gene of the NF-κB pathway. Our previous studies demonstrated that five Nfkb genes are expressed in mouse taste epithelium and taste organoids.

Blueberry anthocyanin‑enriched extract (BAE) has been demonstrated to protect against cardiovascular diseases by activating multiple target genes. The present study investigated the effects of BAE on transverse aortic constriction (TAC)‑induced myocardial dysfunction in mice and explored its possible molecular mechanisms. A total of 30 male mice were divided randomly into control, TAC and TAC + BAE groups.

Laminaria japonica feedstuff is used as a substitute for Sargassum thunbergii in the small-scale culturing of Apostichopus japonicus (sea cucumber) because of its abundant sources and low price in China. However, the difficulty associated with the degradation of algin by A. japonicus and, hence, its utilization have limited the practical value of L.

2-[(18)F]Fluoroethyl azide ([(18)F]FEA) and terminal alkynyl modified propioloyl RGDfK were selected in this study. [(18)F]FEA was prepared by nucleophilic radiofluorination of 2-azidoethyl 4-toluenesulfonate with radiochemical yield of 71 ± 4% (n = 5, decay-corrected). We assessed the various conditions of the CuAAC reaction between [(18)F]FEA and propioloyl RGDfK, which included peptide concentration, reaction time, temperature and catalyst dosage.
