Designing new radiolabeled hypoxia-targeted drugs is of great help in the diagnosis of tumors. Hypoxia-targeted drugs with dual bioactive groups can enhance hypoxia selectivity, strengthen the binding of drugs to targets, and improve diagnostic accuracy compared with traditional hypoxia-targeted drugs containing only one nitroimidazole group. In this study, a series of novel radioiodine labeled tyrosine derivatives containing 2-nitroimidazole and benzenesulfonamide groups were synthesized and in vitro evaluated.

Indole-fused polycycles are common in natural products and bioactive molecules, yet their concise and efficient synthesis remains challenging, especially for compounds with multiple stereocenters. Herein, we report the application of a chiral CpRh catalyst in the enantioselective C-H activation/[4+2] annulation of indoles with bicyclic alkenes. This chiral catalytic system exhibits high enantioselectivity and broad functional group tolerance and operates under benign conditions.

Background: Uncertainty in the diagnosis of lung nodules is a challenge for both patients and physicians. Artificial intelligence (AI) systems are increasingly being integrated into medical imaging to assist diagnostic procedures. However, the accuracy of AI systems in identifying and measuring lung nodules on chest computed tomography (CT) scans remains unclear, which requires further evaluation.

Nowadays, much attention is paid to the development of high-performance and multifunctional materials, but it is still a great challenge to obtain polymer materials with high mechanical properties, high self-healing properties, and multifunctionality in one. Herein, an innovative strategy is proposed to obtain a satisfactory waterborne polyurethane (PMWPU-Bx) by in situ anchoring 3-aminophenylboronic acid (3-APBA) in a pyrene-capped waterborne polyurethane (PMWPU) via supramolecular interactions. The multiple functional sites inherent in 3-APBA can produce supramolecular interactions with groups on PMWPU, promoting the aggregation of hard domains in the polymer network, which confers the PMWPU-Bx strength (7.

The progression of hepatoma is heavily influenced by the microenvironment. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are considered to play a critical role in the tumor microenvironment (TME) and increase the aggressiveness of hepatoma. The activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) is involved in hepatoma progression, and accumulating evidence demonstrates a change in microRNA (miRNA) expression during HSC activation.

Investigating the formation mechanism and effective manipulation of multi-component crystal polymorphs is crucial for facilitating industrial drug development. Herein, five novel Osimertinib-caffeic acid forms were first strategically tailored by varying solvent selection. Theoretical analysis demonstrated this polymorphism is correlated with multiple hydrogen bond donors-acceptors within multi-component system, which provides manipulation space for reconfiguration of intermolecular interactions and structural competition, while solvent further induced or involved in hydrogen-bonded rearrangements.

Understanding the mechanisms of heterogeneous nucleation to improve the precision and applicability of polymorphism selection remains challenging. In this study, the formation of confined microdomains with heterogeneous interfaces in the micelle and gel systems were reported based on the supramolecular self-assembly of glycyrrhizic acid. The polymorph with high-purity preparation of isonicotinamide and nicotinamide was achieved due to the high degree of supersaturation and diverse nucleation pathways.

Article Synopsis
  • Lentinan (LNT) is a powerful substance from a food source that has immune-boosting properties, but its exact effects under immune-suppressive conditions are not fully understood.
  • This study examined how LNT could counteract the harmful effects of cyclophosphamide (CP), which causes immune suppression, intestinal damage, and gut bacteria imbalance.
  • Results showed that LNT improved various health indicators in mice affected by CP, repaired intestinal damage, and restored healthy gut microbiota by increasing beneficial bacteria, highlighting its potential as a treatment for immunosuppression.

Two-dimensional magnets with spontaneous topological spin textures have important application prospects in highly integrated spintronic devices. However, so far, the predicted two-dimensional magnets with topological spin textures are mainly based on transition metals, and most of them are semiconductors or metals. Here, based on first-principles calculations, we predict two-dimensional rare-earth-based half-metallic monolayer GdAN (A = Ge, Sn), with 100% spin polarization.

Purpose: Cervical cancer (CC), a significant global health threat, necessitates comprehensive understanding for improved therapeutic interventions. Many research indicates that dysregulation of the Hippo-YAP1 pathway leads to uncontrolled proliferation and invasion of tumor cells, promoting the progression of various cancers. This article aims to elucidate the role of RNF6 in CC and its regulation of the Hippo-YAP1 signaling pathway.

Purpose To develop a deep learning model for the morphologic measurement of unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIAs) based on CT angiography (CTA) data and validate its performance using a multicenter dataset. Materials and Methods In this retrospective study, patients with CTA examinations, including those with and without UIAs, in a tertiary referral hospital from February 2018 to February 2021 were included as the training dataset. Patients with UIAs who underwent CTA at multiple centers between April 2021 and December 2022 were included as the multicenter external testing set.

Satisfactory reduction of some displaced pediatric supracondylar humerus fractures is not achievable via closed reduction, thus necessitating open procedure, which increases the incidence of complications. Using percutaneous prying-up technique to assist closed reduction may reduce the requirement for transform to an open operation. We retrospectively reviewed displaced pediatric supracondylar humerus fractures treated by the same surgeon from September 2021 to January 2024,with 134 subjects meeting criteria for inclusion.

Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is widely used in clinical practice for disease diagnosis. However, MRI scans acquired at different sites can have different appearances due to the difference in the hardware, pulse sequence, and imaging parameter. It is important to reduce or eliminate such cross-site variations with brain MRI harmonization so that downstream image processing and analysis is performed consistently.

Microcin J25 (MccJ25), a lasso peptide antibiotic with a unique structure that resembles the lariat knot, has been a topic of intense interest since its discovery in 1992. The precursor (McjA) contains a leader and a core segment. McjB is a protease activated upon binding to the leader, and McjC converts the core segment into the mature MccJ25.

Background: There is increasing evidence that exposure to PM and its constituents is associated with an increased risk of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), but studies on the relationship between exposure to PM constituents and the risk of GDM are still limited.

Methods: A total of 17,855 pregnant women in Guangzhou were recruited for this retrospective cohort study, and the time-varying average concentration method was used to estimate individual exposure to PM and its constituents during pregnancy. Logistic regression was used to assess the relationship between exposure to PM and its constituents and the risk of GDM, and the expected inflection point between exposure to PM and its constituents and the risk of GDM was estimated using logistic regression combined with restricted cubic spline curves.
