Purpose Of Review: Traditional surgical management for urinary incontinence and vesicoureteral reflux often requires complex reconstructive surgery and extended hospitalizations. Since the introduction of endoscopic bulking agents in 1973, there has been increasing interest in the use of endoscopic injection (EI) and bulking for the treatment of a variety of pediatric urologic disorders. The purpose of this review is to summarize the most recent literature addressing the use of bulking agents in pediatric urology.

Furthermore, their impaction at an early age could have harmful psychological consequences on the individual. Maxillary central incisors can be impacted due to early dentoalveolar trauma to the upper anterior region that displaces the incisor in formation and, in rare instances, tooth germs are deformed.

Long-term persistence is an important factor influencing therapeutic benefit and is a surrogate measure of efficacy. We compared five-year golimumab treatment persistence across studies, indications, and lines of therapy using pooled data from pivotal golimumab Phase III clinical trials.

Methods: Eligible PURSUIT-M trial participants completed a 6-week GLM induction trial without requiring colectomy. Responders to GLM induction were randomized 1:1:1 to GLM 50 mg, GLM 100 mg, or placebo (PBO) maintenance for up to 1 year, administered every 4 weeks (q4w).
Objectives: The GO-BACK study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of golimumab (GLM) treatment withdrawal in adults with non-radiographic axial spondyloarthritis (nr-axSpA) who demonstrate inactive disease during a 10-month open-label (OL) GLM run-in.
Methods: Eligible participants received OL GLM in period 1. In period 2, participants who achieved inactive disease were randomized 1:1:1 to receive double-blind (DB) treatment with monthly placebo (PBO, treatment withdrawal) or continued GLM treatment given monthly (GLM QMT) or every 2 months (GLM Q2MT).
Introduction & Objective: The opioid crisis has raised concerns for long-term sequela of routine administration of opioids to patients, particularly in the pediatric population. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug use is limited in hypospadias surgery due to concerns for post-operative bleeding, particularly with ketorolac. We hypothesize that ketorolac administration at the time of hypospadias repair is not associated with increased bleeding or immediate adverse events.

The 2019 American Urological Association(AUA)/(SUFU) Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine & Urogenital Reconstruction guidelines recommend the placement of a male sling or artificial urinary sphincter. Patient education is essential for appropriate expectations and patient satisfaction.

Recent Findings: Urology trainees were often redeployed to frontline services in unfamiliar clinical settings.
This review discusses the available evidence in the current evaluation and treatment of nocturia in frail older adults. No evidence specifically evaluates the use of behavioral interventions in the treatment of the frail older adult with nocturia, but their use is supported in other cohorts. Behavioral modifications and optimal management of comorbidities remain the first-line treatment for all age groups and should be emphasized in the frail due to their favorable safety profile.

Strangulation has been reported with objects ranging from hair tourniquets, to plastic rings, to iron rings. Strangulation with these devices can result in vascular congestion of the penis, swelling and eventual gangrene of the penis distal to the constricting device.

Design And Methods: Cross-sectional study of 386 Mexican community-dwelling older adults. Individuals with episodic memory, executive function, language, visuospatial skills or attention cognitive complaints without low cognitive performance scores in the Mini-Mental State Examination and the Isaacs Set Test that were considered positive for subjective cognitive decline (SCD).
Background: Results from a phase III, randomized, double-blind, active comparator-controlled, parallel-group trial evaluating fosaprepitant for the prevention of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) found that a single-day, triple-antiemetic fosaprepitant regimen resulted in a significantly higher proportion of patients achieving a complete response (CR; no vomiting or rescue medication use) in the delayed phase (25-120 h after chemotherapy initiation), compared with a 3-day control regimen ( ClinicalTrials.gov , NCT01594749). As the risk for CINV is dependent on chemotherapy regimen and generally guided by tumor type, this post hoc analysis evaluated the efficacy and safety of this regimen by cancer subpopulations (gastrointestinal [GI] or colorectal, lung, breast, and gynecologic cancers).

Herein, we highlight that non-classical hydrogen bonding (NCHB), likely resulting from hyperconjugation, can play a significant role in the carbene-selenium Se NMR chemical shift, thus triggering a non-linear behavior of the Se-Scale.

Few prior studies have evaluated the well-being of or changes to training for American resident physicians during the COVID-19 pandemic. We aim to study predictors of trainee well-being and changes to clinical practice using an anonymous survey of American urology residents.

Materials And Methods: This phase 3, multicenter, randomized controlled trial evaluated metered-dose inhaler twice daily (BID) dosing with MF/F 100/10 µg or MF 100 µg in children, aged 5 to 11 years, with a history of asthma for greater than or equal to 6 months and confirmed bronchodilator reversibility, who were adequately controlled on inhaled corticosteroid/long-acting beta-agonist combination therapy for greater than or equal to 4 weeks.
Background: Because of historical safety concerns with the use of long-acting β-agonists (LABA) in asthma, step-down from inhaled corticosteroid (ICS)/LABA combination therapy to ICS monotherapy is recommended once asthma control is achieved.
Objective: To evaluate the benefit/risk question about whether patients with asthma who achieve disease control on fixed-dose ICS/LABA combination therapy, such as mometasone furoate/formoterol fumarate (MF/F), should continue with this therapy or be stepped down to ICS monotherapy, such as MF.
Methods: Using data from 8447 clinically stable patients with persistent asthma in the Safety Pharma Investigation of Respiratory Outcomes trial who had been receiving a stable dose of ICS/LABA for ≥4 weeks, this post hoc analysis evaluated the risk of serious asthma outcomes (SAOs) (adjudicated hospitalization, intubation, or death) and asthma exacerbation (AEX) (composite of hospitalizations ≥24 hours, emergency visits <24 hours requiring systemic corticosteroid, or systemic corticosteroid for ≥3 consecutive days) in participants randomized to remain on ICS/LABA (MF/F) or step down to ICS (MF) for 26 weeks.
Aims: Nocturnal polyuria (NP) and global polyuria (GP) are not mutually exclusive. However, by rate, the common criteria for GP (40 mL/kg/24 hours [117 mL/kg/hour in a 70-kg individual] or 3000 mL/24 hours [125 mL/h]) are more stringent than those for NP (90 mL/hour during the sleep period or NP index [NPi; nocturnal volume/24-hour volume] > 0.33 [no minimum rate]).

PRSS are peer-driven mentoring, education, and support ministrations delivered by individuals who, because of their own experience with SUD and SUD recovery, are experientially qualified to support peers currently experiencing SUD and associated problems. This systematic review characterizes the existing experimental, quasi-experimental, single- and multi-group prospective and retrospective, and cross-sectional research on PRSS.

Objective: We sought to determine whether administering formoterol in combination with mometasone furoate increases the risk of serious asthma outcomes (SAOs) compared with mometasone furoate alone. This clinical trial is registered as NCT01471340.
Cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbenes with a six-membered backbone were prepared. Compared to their five-membered analogues, they feature increased % V and enhanced donor and acceptor properties, as evidenced by the observed n → π* transition trailing into the visible region. The high ambiphilic character even allows for the intramolecular insertion of the carbene into an unactivated C(sp)-H bond.
