Article Synopsis
  • The type VI secretion system (T6SS) is crucial for Gram-negative bacteria, helping them compete and survive against various organisms, with two functional variants (VflT6SS1 and VflT6SS2) identified.
  • The CqsA/LuxS-HapR quorum sensing system regulates VflT6SS2's function through proteins LuxO (which represses) and HapR (which activates), with quorum regulatory small RNAs (Qrr sRNAs) influencing this process.
  • The study discovered four Qrr sRNAs, confirming their role in modulating VflT6SS2 by indirectly affecting HapR and directly repressing key genes, thus shedding light on the interplay between quorum sensing and

The vectorial optical field (VOF) assumes a pivotal role in light-matter interactions. Beyond its inherent polarization topology, the VOF also encompasses an intrinsic degree of freedom associated with parity (even or odd), corresponding to a pair of degenerate orthogonal modes. However, previous research has not delved into the simultaneous manipulation of both even and odd parities.

serogroup O1 ( O1) is closely associated with cholera epidemics and has two main immunologically distinguishable serotypes, Ogawa and Inaba. Isolates serotype as Ogawa if the O-antigen polysaccharide (O-PS) is methylated or as Inaba if the O-PS is not methylated. This methylation is mediated by a methyltransferase encoded by the gene, and the mutation and low expression of results in serotype switch from Ogawa to Inaba.
