Understanding inbreeding depressions (IBDs), the effect on the phenotypic performance of inbreeding, is of major importance for evolution and conservation genetics. Inbreeding depressions in aquatic animals were well documented in a domestic or captive population, while there is less evidence of inbreeding depression in natural populations. Chinese shrimp, , is an important species in both aquaculture and fishery activities in China.

Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is a primary cause of cancer death around the world. Previous studies have found that Drosha plays a significant role in the development of tumor cells. Soon after, we unexpectedly found that the expression of microRNA6778-5p (miR6778-5p) is unconventionally high in the gastric cancer cells low-expressing Drosha.

Microlens arrays can improve light transmittance in optical devices or enhance the photoelectrical conversion efficiency of photovoltaic devices. Their surface morphology (aspect ratio and packed density) is vital to photon management in solar cells. Here, we report a 100% packed density paraboloidal microlens array (PMLA), with a large aspect ratio, fabricated by direct-write UV laser photolithography coupled with soft imprint lithography.

Then, through radical graft copolymerization of thermo-sensitive monomer -isopropylacrylamide (NIPAm) and hydrophilic monomer acrylic acid (AA) onto the surface of P(MMA-St) nanospheres at 80 °C, a series of thermo-sensitive polymer nanospheres, named SD-SEAL with different lower critical solution temperatures (LCST), were prepared by adjusting the mole ratio of NIPAm to AA. The products were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, particle size distribution, and specific surface area analysis.

A total of 6,647 SNPs were assigned to 22 linkage groups, which is equal to the number of chromosome pairs in turbot.

The FcHsp21 gene contained an open reading frame (ORF) of 555 bp in length, encoding a 184 amino acid protein with a theoretical size of about 21 kDa and a predicted isoelectric point of 5.38.

The results indicated that the full length cDNA of 859 bp had an open reading frame encoded a polypeptide of 220 amino acids with one carbohydrate-recognition domain, six conserved Cys and one key motif EPGD. The theoretical molecular weight and pI of mature protein was 25.

The results indicated that the full length cDNA of 6713 bp had an open reading frame encoded a polypeptide of 2139 amino acids with two glucanase-like motifs and one RGD motif, while without signal peptide. The calculated molecular mass of mature protein was 240.

Objective: To study on the chemical constituents of effective part of Semen Ziziphi Spinosae.
Method: The sample was extracted with methanol and purified by macroporous resin. The structures were identified by high performance liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization with multi-stage tandem mass spectrometry.
An assay was developed for the detection of infectious hypodermal and hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHHNV) based on real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR). A pair of primers and a TaqMan probe were designed that are specific for the recognition of a conservative region in the IHHNV genome. The IHHNV real-time PCR assay had a detection limit of 9 DNA copies, with a dynamic range of detection between 9 x 106 and 9 DNA copies.
