Background: Prolonged dependence on mechanical ventilation is a common occurrence in clinical ICU patients and presents significant challenges for patient care and resource allocation. Predicting prolonged dependence on mechanical ventilation is crucial for improving patient outcomes, preventing ventilator-associated complications, and guiding targeted clinical interventions. However, specific tools for predicting prolonged mechanical ventilation among ICU patients, particularly those with critical orthopaedic trauma, are currently lacking.

Background: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a diverse disorder that most frequently affects elderly people and makes them disabled. Many investigations have shown that the etiology of OA depends on cartilage wear, but immunology also plays a significant role. Thus, the goal of this study was to define the immune-related etiology of OA.

The cascaded energy-level structure enabled by the newly designed acceptor is beneficial to the carrier transport and separation. Meanwhile, the three materials show a complementary absorption in the visible region, resulting in efficient light harvesting.

The development of simple and water-/alcohol-soluble interfacial materials is crucial for the cost-effective fabrication process of polymer solar cells (PSCs). Herein, highly efficient PSCs are reported employing water-/alcohol-soluble and low-cost rhodamines as cathode interfacial layers (CILs). The results reveal that rhodamine-based CILs can reduce the work function of the Al cathode and simultaneously increase the open-circuit voltage, current density, fill factor, and power conversion efficiency (PCE) of PSCs.

It is emerging as one of the most promising procedures for patients with painful bone metastasis who are unsuitable for surgery or who show resistance to radiotherapy and/or analgesic therapies. This study aimed at describing the procedure, indications, and benefits of percutaneous cementoplasty for painful osteolytic distal femur metastases.

Metastatic epidural compression of the spinal cord is a significant source of morbidity in patients with systemic cancer. With improvment of oncotheray, survival period in the patients is improving and metastatic cord compression is en- countered increasingly often. Surgical management performed for early circumferential decompression for the spinal cord com- pression with spine instability, and spine reconstruction performed.

Objective: This study aims to develop a new scoring system that can guild surgeons to select the best candidates for decompressive surgery in patients with metastatic spinal cord compression (MSCC).
Summary Of Background Data: Predicting survival and functional outcome is essential when selecting the individual treatment for patients with MSCC.
