A visible light-induced diastereoselective synthesis of trifluoromethylated cyclobutane derivatives is described, consisting of [2+2]-photocycloaddition and water-assisted hydrodebromination by one pot. Quinolinones, isoquinolinones, and coumarins are able to participate in this one-pot process with 1-bromo-1-trifluoromethylethene. In addition, stereodefined trisubstituted trifluoromethylated cyclobutane alcohols, carboxylic acids, and amines can be obtained in a straightforward manner through the ring opening of lactone or lactam without the loss of original high diastereoselectivity given by the water-tristrimethylsilylsilane coordination.

Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is a rare neuroendocrine malignancy derived from parafollicular cells (C cells) of the thyroid. Here we presented a comprehensive multi-omics landscape of 102 MTCs through whole-exome sequencing, RNA sequencing, DNA methylation array, proteomic and phosphoproteomic profiling. Integrated analyses identified BRAF and NF1 as novel driver genes in addition to the well-characterized RET and RAS proto-oncogenes.

As the main existing form of SO derivatives, bisulfite showed closely relationship to many diseases. In this work, a new fluorescent probe (SDPP-DM) based on thienyl-substituted diketopyrrolopyrrole (SDPP) was designed and synthesized for the detection of endogenous bisulfite. The probe displayed obvious color changes from green to pink towards bisulfite due to the reduced conjugated length caused by the addition to the α,β-unsaturated double bond of its structure, and the change of the fluorescence intensity of SDPP-DM (I/I) was about 16 folds.
