Stress in extreme environment severely disrupts human physiology and mental abilities. The present study investigated the cognition and performance efficacy of four divers during a simulated 480 meters helium-oxygen saturation diving. We analyzed the spatial memory, 2D/3D mental rotation functioning, grip strength, and hand-eye coordination ability in four divers during the 0-480 m compression and decompression processes of the simulated diving.

Objective: To investigate the changes of adhesion molecules, cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP) and cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in divers post 480 heliox saturation diving.

Methods: Four divers were compressed within 96 hours to depths of 480 m with heliox-oxygen and held at the designated depth for 49 hours, excursion to 493 m during their saturation stay, then decompressed within 302 hours to the surface. The blood samples were collected before compression and post decompression, the expression level of intercellular adhesion molecule-1(ICAM-1), E-selectin, P-selectin, cAMP, cGMP were detected with ELISA analysis box.

High pressure nervous syndrome (HPNS) is an instinctive response of mammalian high-class nervous functions to increased hydrostatic pressure. Electrophysiological activity of mammalian central nervous system (CNS), including brainstem auditory-evoked potential (BAEP), has characteristic changes under pressure. Here we recorded BAEP of 63 mice exposed to 0-4.

Objective: To investigate whether a simulated He-O2 saturation dive to 65 msw would affect oxidative balance in humans.

Methods: Seven divers participated in a simulated saturation dive to 0.75 MPa (65 msw).

Objective: It is suggested that one of the mechanisms for high pressure nervous syndrome (HPNS) is related to nervous cell membranous fluidity. Both pressure and fatty acid components of cell membranes would influence membrane fluidity. The present research probed into the relationship between different fatty acid components of brain cell membrane and individuals' degree of HPNS.

China has adopted a push model of Freedom of Information (FOI) legislation that emphasizes proactive disclosure of government information. This differs from a pull model that stresses citizen-initiated access or reactive disclosure. The push model of FOI legislation, which has reduced the importance of access requests in China, grew out of its local causes.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to observe changes in serum levels of IL-1, IL-2R, and TNF-alpha in divers after deep saturation diving in the open sea.
  • Eight experienced divers participated in the study, undergoing 150 hours of Heliox saturation and measuring serum levels before and after diving using the ELISA method.
  • The results showed no significant change in TNF-alpha levels, but there were significant increases in IL-1 and IL-2R levels post-saturation dive.
