Doubled haploid (DH) populations, particularly those from subspecies crosses possessing the wide compatible gene , are important germplasm resources for rice genetic studies and breeding, but their feature and potential have not been fully assessed and explored. In the present study, we produced a DH population from the hybrid of 668B and wide compatible T23. Genotyping of the locus with allele-specific markers for , and revealed a potential recombination hot spot in the region.

Background & Objective: Early detection of breast cancer is crucial to improve the therapeutic effect and to increase the survival rate. However, it is difficult because breast cancer in early stage was usually occult, impalpable, and could not be detected by laboratory test. This study was designed to compare the effectiveness of three methods for diagnosis of non-palpable breast cancer.

Background & Objective: Many clinic data showed that it is difficult to control primary liver carcinoma (PLC) by transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) alone due to existence of double blood supply of liver by hepatic artery and portal vein. This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with portal venous chemoembolization (PVCE) in the treatment of moderate and advanced stages of PLC.

Methods: Fifty-eight cases of moderate and advanced stages of PLC were treated with a combination of TACE and PVCE (TACE/PVCE group) and 118 patients with moderate and advanced stages of PLC were treated with TACE alone (TACE group).

Aim: To conduct a randomized trial to evaluate the role of using high-dose iodized oil transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) in the treatment of large hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

Methods: From January 1993 to June 1998, 473 patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma were divided into two groups: 216 patients in group A received more than 20 mL iodized oil during the first TACE treatment; 257 patients in group B received 5-15 mL iodized oil in the same way. The Child's classification and ICG-R15 for evaluating the liver function of the patients were done before the treatment.

AIM:To evaluate the therapeutic effects of segmental transcatheter arterial embolization for primary hepatocellular carcinoma, and to recognize the menifestation and clinical value of lipiodol overflow into portal veins surrounding the tumors.METHODS:A total of 50 cases of nonresectable primary hepatocellular carcinoma underwent segmental transcatheter arterial embolization. Two methods of superselective segmental catheterization were used, one was the method of wire-guiding, and the other the technic of co-axial infusion catheter.
