Background: Atherosclerosis (AS) is a major cause of cardiovascular diseases and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) may be actively involved in the development of atherosclerosis. Identifying key biomarkers in this process is essential for developing targeted treatments for AS.
Methods: We performed bioinformatics analysis using a NETosis-related gene (NRGs) set and three AS datasets (GSE100927, GSE21545, and GSE159677).
Background: Recent randomized clinical trials have demonstrated the benefits of intravascular imaging (IVI)-guided percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) over angiography-guided PCI. However, the role of angiography-based physiological assessment during IVI-guided PCI remains unclear.
Objectives: This study aimed to explore the discrepancies and significance of angiography-based physiological assessments in IVI-guided PCI.
Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death globally. The 3D fusion of coronary X-ray angiography (XA) and optical coherence tomography (OCT) provides complementary information to appreciate coronary anatomy and plaque morphology. This significantly improve CAD diagnosis and prognosis by enabling precise hemodynamic and computational physiology assessments.

This work reveals the effects of filler modification and orientation on thermal duction in the boron nitride (BN)/hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) through multiscale simulation approaches. Nonequilibrium molecular dynamics (NEMD) identifies that the thermal conductivity of the BN molecule is not size-dependent and proves that thermal resistance is dramatically reduced after hydroxylation modification (BN).

Methods: A sample was obtained from wave 2011 to wave 2015 of the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study. Multivariate logistic regression models were used to estimate odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for stroke in the quartiles of three atherosclerosis indexes, and restricted cubic splines were constructed.
We present a mixed integer programming model for prioritizing fuel treatments within a landscape fuel break network to maximize protection against wildfires, measured by the total fire size reduction or the sum of Wildland Urban Interface areas avoided from burning. This model uses a large dataset of simulated wildfires in a large landscape to inform fuel break treatment decisions. Its mathematical formulation is concise and computationally efficient, allowing for customization and expansion to address more complex and challenging fuel break management problems in diverse landscapes.

Nevertheless, the precise mechanisms underlying the development of the cholangiocellular phenotype (CCA) within HCC remain unclear. Emerging studies support that the cross-talk among the host cells within tumor microenvironment (TME) sustains the cancer cell plasticity.

These hybrid membranes exhibit exceptional functionalities, including resistance to oil fouling, self-cleaning, antibacterial properties, and reduced oil viscosity. Based on their reaction mechanisms, current photocatalytic and photothermal membranes are categorized into four types, i.

Metformin, a widely used antidiabetic drug, has neuroprotective properties and improves cognitive impairment and memory deficits. However, the mechanisms underlying its action in improving cognitive dysfunction after anesthesia and surgery remain unclear.

The purpose was to evaluate the protective effect and its potential mechanism of trehalose (Tre, autophagy inducer) on reproductive damage during spermiogenesis induced by BDE-209.

Here, we investigated the therapeutic potential of DNA vaccination combined with a potent HBV broadly neutralizing antibody (bNAb) targeting the small surface viral antigen.
Approach Results: C57BL/6 mice were transduced with adeno-associated virus (AAV)-HBV and were treated twice a week with HBV bNAb for 5 weeks.
Background: Dietary choices are inextricably linked to the incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD), whereas an optimal dietary pattern to minimize CVD morbidity in high-risk subjects remains challenging.
Methods: We comprehensively assessed the relationship between food consumption frequencies and CVD in 28,979 high-risk subjects. The outcome was defined as the composite of the incidence of major CVD events, including coronary heart disease and stroke.
Triple oxygen isotope composition (Δ'O) of sulfate carries information on the sulfur cycle as well as signatures of atmospheric O, O, and surface water of the geological past. However, existing analytical techniques can only achieve a partial oxygen yield during the conversion from sulfate to the analyte O, which results in isotope fractionation and impedes the Δ'O comparison with other oxygen-bearing compounds (e.g.

The rapid development of wearable devices and soft robotics has an urgent demand for polymer conductors with a switchable adhesion property. Herein, we report a supramolecular ionogel (SIG) that can reversibly switch between adhesion and debonding to various substrates. The on/off switchable adhesion of SIG is attributed to phase separation induced by the aggregation of polymer chains and the formation of a lubricating layer, which impairs the contact between polymer chains and substrates, thus weakening interfacial interaction.

It can easily be confused with other types of thyroid diseases. The diagnosis of the disease depends on genetic testing.
