The highly conserved homology cassette family (HOX) as well as 18 referenced long non-coding antisense transcripts (HOXATs) play vital roles in the development of some cancers. Nevertheless, their expression patterns as well as their association with cancer prognosis and the tumor microenvironment (TME) in pan-cancers are still unclear. Here, based on public databases, the expression levels of HOXATs, their prognostic potentials, and correlation with tumor mutation burden (TMB), immune cell infiltration, immune subtype, immune response-related genes, and stemness scores corresponding to 33 tumor types were analyzed systematically using R language.

Existing automated methods of prostate cancer detection mostly rely on ground truth labels with limited accuracy, ignore disease pathology characteristics observed on resected tissue, and cannot selectively identify aggressive (Gleason Pattern≥4) and indolent (Gleason Pattern=3) cancers when they co-exist in mixed lesions. In this paper, we present a radiology-pathology fusion approach, CorrSigNIA, for the selective identification and localization of indolent and aggressive prostate cancer on MRI.

Chemical fixation of carbon dioxide (CO ) into value-added organics is regarded as a competitive and viable method in large scale industrial production, during which the catalysts with promoting CO activation ability are needed. Herein, we proposed an in-plane heterostructure strategy to construct Lewis acid-base sites for efficient CO activation. By taking ultrathin in-plane Cu O/Cu heterostructures as a prototype, we show that Lewis acid-base sites on heterointerface can facilitate a mixed C and O dual coordination on surface, which not only strengthen CO adsorption, but also effectively activate the inert molecules.

Here, we report on mechanisms responsible for Jumonji AT-rich interactive domain1B (JARID1B) upregulation in GC and its role in the malignant transformation induced by infection.

Currently, depression has become a common mental disorder, especially among postgraduates. It is reported that postgraduates have a higher risk of depression than the general public, and they are more sensitive to contact with others. Thus, a non-contact and effective method for detecting people at risk of depression becomes an urgent demand.

However, these algorithms have limitations such as insufficient granularity and unbalanced module size, which prevent full acquisition of knowledge from data mining. In addition, it is difficult to incorporate prior knowledge in current co-expression module detection algorithms.

Deterioration of the ecological environment in the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River in China substantially impacts the growth and development of aquatic organisms in the drainage basin. This paper builds a conceptual model by applying flow components and fish ecological requirements relation with a relevant object of main fish in the upper and middle reaches of the Yellow River. The paper utilized the flow restoration method by employing the River2D model (two-dimensional model of river hydrodynamics and fish habitat), and a one-dimensional hydrodynamics HEC-RAS (hydrologic engineering center's-river analysis system).

Wheel rail rolling contact fatigue is a very common form of damage, which can lead to uneven rail treads, railhead nuclear damage, etc. Therefore, ANSYS software was used to establish a three-dimensional wheel-rail contact model and analyze the effects of several main characteristics, such as the rail crack length and crack propagation angle, on the fatigue crack intensity factor during crack propagation. The main findings were as follows: (1) With the rail crack length increasing, the position where the crack propagated by mode I moved from the inner edge of the wheel-rail contact spot to the outer edge.

Background And Objective: Chronic cough (CC) affects approximately 10% of adults. Many disease states are associated with chronic cough, such as asthma, upper airway cough syndrome, bronchitis, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. The lack of an ICD code specific for chronic cough makes it challenging to identify such patients from electronic health records (EHRs).

GRN-associated FTD is characterized by TDP-43 inclusions and neuroinflammation, but how PGRN loss causes disease remains elusive. We show that Grn knockout (KO) mice have increased microgliosis in white matter and an accumulation of myelin debris in microglial lysosomes in the same regions.

In this study, we characterized the time constants associated with deaeration during the expiratory phase of pressure-controlled ventilation in pigs before and after acute lung injury using respiratory-gated 4DCT and image registration. : Eleven pigs were mechanically ventilated in pressure-controlled mode under baseline conditions and following an oleic acid model of acute lung injury.

Epithelial and stromal tissues are components of the tumor microenvironment and play a major role in tumor initiation and progression. Distinguishing stroma from epithelial tissues is critically important for spatial characterization of the tumor microenvironment. Here, we propose BrcaSeg, an image analysis pipeline based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) model to classify epithelial and stromal regions in whole-slide hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stained histopathological images.

Whole-Slide Histopathology Image (WSI) is generally considered the gold standard for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. Given the large inter-operator variation among pathologists, there is an imperative need to develop machine learning models based on WSIs for consistently predicting patient prognosis. The existing WSI-based prediction methods do not utilize the ordinal ranking loss to train the prognosis model, and thus cannot model the strong ordinal information among different patients in an efficient way.

This paper presents a geodesic density regression (GDR) algorithm to correct motion artifacts in 4DCT by correcting artifacts in one breathing phase with artifact-free data from corresponding regions of other breathing phases. The GDR algorithm estimates an artifact-free lung template image and a smooth, dense, 4D (space plus time) vector field that deforms the template image to each breathing phase to produce an artifact-free 4DCT scan.

The emergence of borophene has triggered soaring interest in the investigation of its superior structural anisotropy, a novel photoelectronic property for diverse potential applications. However, the structural instability and need of a metal substrate for depositing borophene restrict its large-scale applications toward high-performance electronic and optoelectric devices. van der Waals epitaxy is regarded as an efficient technique for growing superb two-dimensional materials onto extensive functional substrates, but the preparation of stable and controllable borophene on nonmetallic substrates is still not reported.
