To systematically evaluate the efficiency and safety of Shenfu injection in treating patients with angina pectoris. Retrievals were made in Embase, Pubmed, Cochrane Library, Clinical Trials.gov, CNKI, CBM, VIP and Wanfang (before September 2015) for randomized or semi-randomized controlled trials reporting data of Shenfu injection in the adjuvant treatment of angina pectoris.

Background: This study was conducted to investigate the protective effect of Tongmai oral liquid on arteriovenous fistula function and to provide an effective method to promote fistula maturation.

Methods: Fifteen female and fifteen male SPF New Zealand rabbits were randomly allocated into 3 groups including control, Aspirin and Tongmai oral liquid groups. A side-to-side femoral arteriovenous fistula was established in each rabbit and then animals were treated with Aspirin or Tongmai oral liquid for 2 weeks.

Effect of methylphenidate on mismatched visual information processing in young healthy volunteers: an event-related potential study.

This study was to investigate whether a single dose of methylphenidate (MPH), a dopamine and noradrenaline enhancing drug for the treatment of attentional deficits, influences mismatch visual information processing in young healthy volunteers determined with N270. A randomized double-blinded placebo-controlled study was conducted, and each participant was tested on two sessions separated by two weeks. On each session, a matching task was given first, followed by taking an opaque capsule (20 mg MPH or placebo), and matching task was administered again after 90-min rest.

Acquired vesico-rectal fistula is an uncommon complication of pelvic malignant tumors, surgical injury, inflammatory disorders such as tuberculosis infection, radiotherapy and less commonly diverticulum of the urinary tract. The fistula is often identified by urinary tract abnormalities such as dysuria, recurrent urinary tract infection, pneumaturia, and fecaluria. Here, we report an unusual case of a patient with a vesico-rectal fistula of tuberculous origin, presenting with severe acute diarrhea, metabolic acidosis, hyperchloremia and hypokalemia while with only mild urinary tract symptoms.

Orbital resolution of molecules covalently attached to a clean semiconductor surface.

Understanding the chemical and electronic nature of molecules attached to semiconductors is of great importance in the study of molecule-based electronic devices. Resolving individual molecular orbitals using scanning tunnelling microscopy is a straightforward approach but remains challenging on the semiconductor surfaces because of their highly reactive dangling bonds. Here we show that hybridized molecular orbitals of pyridazine molecules covalently attached to Ge(100) surfaces can be resolved by scanning tunnelling microscopy.

The effect of coix seed on the nutritional status of peritoneal dialysis patients: a pilot study.

Objective: To observe the effect of coix seed diet therapy on the nutritional status of peritoneal dialysis patients and to discuss the potential reasons.

Methods: 30 dialysis patients with regular return visit to peritoneal dialysis center of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine were recruited and divided into two groups according to their willingness. 13 patients in control group continued their usual dialysis prescriptions and medications, whereas 30g of coix seed per day was added to the usual therapies of 17 patients in coix seed group.

[Watershed water environment pollution models and their applications: a review].

Watershed water environment pollution model is the important tool for studying watershed environmental problems. Through the quantitative description of the complicated pollution processes of whole watershed system and its parts, the model can identify the main sources and migration pathways of pollutants, estimate the pollutant loadings, and evaluate their impacts on water environment, providing a basis for watershed planning and management. This paper reviewed the watershed water environment models widely applied at home and abroad, with the focuses on the models of pollutants loading (GWLF and PLOAD), water quality of received water bodies (QUAL2E and WASP), and the watershed models integrated pollutant loadings and water quality (HSPF, SWAT, AGNPS, AnnAGNPS, and SWMM), and introduced the structures, principles, and main characteristics as well as the limitations in practical applications of these models.
