Passive daytime radiative cooling (PDRC) is a simple and effective cooling approach that does not consume any extra energy just by highly reflecting shortwave sunlight and highly radiating infrared heat through the atmospheric windows. In recent years, the application of photonic coolers and metamaterials for PDRC has been studied. However, they usually have complex processes and high precision requirements, which seriously limit large-scale fabrication.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the link between tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) levels and the effectiveness of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) in patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
  • A meta-analysis of 32 studies showed that patients with high TIL levels had a significantly higher pathologic complete response (pCR) rate (48.0%) compared to those with low TIL levels (27.7%).
  • The research suggests TILs could be a useful predictor for how well TNBC patients respond to NAT, with high TIL levels consistently linked to better treatment outcomes across different NAT protocols.

As the largest organ in the human body, skeletal muscle is essential for breathing support, movement initiation, and maintenance homeostasis. It has been shown that programmed cell death (PCD), which includes autophagy, apoptosis, and necrosis, is essential for the development of skeletal muscle. A novel form of PCD called ferroptosis is still poorly understood in relation to skeletal muscle.

Objectives: Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index (GNRI) is a new and simple index recently introduced to assess nutritional status, and its predictive value for clinical outcomes has been demonstrated in patients with chronic kidney disease. However, the association between the GNRI and prognosis has not been evaluated so far in patients with acute kidney injury (AKI), especially in those receiving continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT).

Methods: A total of 1096 patients with severe AKI initiating CRRT were identified for inclusion in this retrospective observational study.

Senescent kidney can lead to the maladaptive repairment and predispose age-related kidney diseases. Here, we explore the renal anti-senescence effect of a known kind of drug, sodium-dependent glucose transporters 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i). After 4 months intragastrically administration with dapagliflozin on senescence-accelerated mouse prone 8 (SAMP8) strain mice, the physiologically effects (lowering urine protein, enhancing glomerular blood perfusion, inhibiting expression of senescence-related biomarkers) and structural changes (improving kidney atrophy, alleviating fibrosis, decreasing glomerular mesangial proliferation) indicate the potential value of delaying kidney senescence of SGLT2i.
