Background & Aims: There is a gap in our understanding of mechanisms promoting hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and this limits our ability to provide targeted therapy interventions for HCC. In HCC samples, NAD-dependent deacetylase sirtuin 2 (SIRT2) levels are increased and associated with a significantly worse prognosis, but the role of SIRT2 in hepatocarcinogenesis remains controversial.
Methods: To assess the role of SIRT2 in hepatocarcinogenesis, we used a hepatocyte-specific knockout of SIRT2 and two plasmid overexpression HCC models: MET/CAT and AKT/Nras.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFAtomic hydrogen (H*) plays a crucial role in electrochemical reduction technology towards various environmental and energy applications, but suffers from low utilization efficiency arisen from the undesirable H-H dimerization and the competitive adsorption between water molecule with reactants on the traditional adjacent catalytic sites. Herein, we anchored Pd single atoms on the naturally formed titanium oxide of titanium foam to construct Pd-O-Ti dual-site electrocatalyst with spatially isolated water dissociation and H* utilization site, which synchronously inhibits the H-H dimerization and the competitive adsorption of water molecule and targeted reactants. Experiments and theoretical calculations revealed that the Ti-O sites could synergistically dissociate water to H*, which overflowed to nearby Pd single-atom sites for designed reduction reactions and utilization benefiting from the hydrogen spillover ability of titanium oxide substrate.

Study Design: This prospective observational study, conducted from December 2018 to May 2019, examined infants born ≤36 weeks gestational age. The Fenton curve was used to extrapolate the fetal growth percentile (Fenton curve method) and predict the birth weight of the infants on the day of delivery.
Multicomponent reactions (MCRs) are powerful tools for rapidly constructing compound libraries with sufficient molecular diversity and complexity. Herein, to fully leverage a third aspect of molecular diversity enabled by the selenium-nitrogen exchange (SeNEx) reaction between alkynes and benzoselenazolones, a novel CuI-catalyzed three-component reaction has been successfully developed. This reaction integrates SeNEx with CuAAC click chemistry, enabling rapid and regioselective synthesis of 1,4,5-trisubstituted 5-seleno-1,2,3-triazoles with high atom economy and good to excellent yields (65 examples, 50%-95%).

PCR is the most commonly used technique for PEDV diagnosis in practical clinics, however, reported works still suffer from shortcomings, for example, most of them cannot differentiate GI and GII subtypes, they suffer from low sensitivity, and some primer sequences are no longer able to match the mutant strains.
