We report an unusual outbreak of norovirus infection on a coach trip. Overall, 30 of 40 people (including drivers and crew) developed nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhoea, 11 of them on the first day of the trip. The incidence epidemic curve showed a first peak on Day 1 and a second on Day 4.

Setting: Centres and suburbs of Rotterdam and Amsterdam villages in the Geul Valley (Limburg), neighbourhoods in urban areas in Limburg and Flevoland.

Exposure to dairy products contaminated as a result of environmental pollution can be an important route of exposure for humans. Whether this route of exposure will cause a serious health risk depends on many factors.
