Management of a Femur Shaft Fracture With Nancy Nail in the Setting of Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa: A Case Report.

Management of bone fractures must achieve both reduction and stability. However, dermatological conditions such as dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa can lead to catastrophic events when operating on the patient's bone fracture, possibly leading to wound infections and fracture nonunion. Here, we report the case of a 20-year-old female with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa who had suffered from a femur fracture after a fall from the bed.

Intercalated bone PEG in the treatment of non-united scaphoid fractures.

Introduction: Untreated ununited scaphoid fractures will almost inevitably progress to radiographic and symptomatic osteoarthritis of the wrist. This may lead to subsequent morbidity and lifelong disability especially in young males in which the fracture scaphoid is more common.

Patients And Methods: Twenty-one patients presenting non-united fracture scaphoid were operated upon by using disto-proximal bone peg technique with average time between injury and operation as 11 months (6-18 months).

Evaluation of scarf osteotomy for management of hallux valgus deformity.

Hallux valgus is a complex progressive deformity affecting the forefoot. The main pathologic anatomy concerns the first metatarsophalangeal joint, including a varus or medial deviation of the first metatarsal and pronation deformity in the longitudinal axis. The goal of this study was to evaluate a series of consecutive patients over a 2-year period after a scarf osteotomy of the first metatarsal.
