Multiple myeloma (MM) is a malignant hematological tumour for which pharmacological treatments such as protease inhibitors, immunomodulators, and steroids are commonly used, but most MM cases still relapsed or become refractory. Autophagy is a type 2 cell death mechanism that plays a key role in MM progression, including biphasic regulation that promotes MM cell survival or facilitates its death. In this paper, we review the changes of MM cells' autophagic activity and its effect on cell proliferation and apoptosis during drug action, aiming to analyse the role of autophagy pathway in drug treatment of MM and provide relevant ideas for targeting autophagy in the treatment of MM.

Method: WM was compared between thirty-four children with ADHD and thirty-four matched controls using neuropsychological tests, spatial and verbal versions of modified delayed matching-to-sample (DMTS) tasks, and the event-related potential technique.
Results: Children with ADHD demonstrated poor behavioral performance, delayed P3 latencies in high-load spatial modified DMTS tasks during encoding, and delayed P2 and N2 latencies during retrieval in spatial modified DMTS tasks.

Methods: We evaluated associations between ALZPath plasma p-tau217 and amyloid-beta positron emission tomography (Aβ-PET) in Hispanic/Latino (88% of Cuban or South American ancestry) and non-Hispanic/Latino older adults. One- and two-cutoff ranges were derived and evaluated to assess agreement with Aβ-PET.
By taking advantage of the effects of solvent selectivity and topology on high-χ block copolymer (BCP) for self-assembly, network phases with high packing frustration can be formed in self-assembled polystyrene--polydimethylsiloxane (PS--PDMS). Apart from gyroid with trigonal structure and diamond with tetrahedral structure, a peculiar network phase with space group of [Formula: see text] (Frank-Kasper structure) can be found in six-arm star-block PS--PDMS as evidenced by small-angle x-ray scattering. Electron tomography results reveal the network phase with alternating connection of three and four struts.

In the neonatal heart, energy metabolic reprogramming (phenotypic alteration of glucose, fatty acid, and amino acid metabolism) parallels cell cycle arrest of cardiomyocytes. The metabolic reprogramming occurring shortly after birth is associated with alterations in blood oxygen levels, metabolic substrate availability, hemodynamic stress, and hormone release.
