This article describes a telehealth-delivered peer/mutual support program for mental health professionals during the pandemic and the key themes identified by participants.
Method: An interdivisional American Psychological Association task force formed a working group to identify practical ways to provide mental health professionals with direct support during the pandemic.
Public concerns over environmental protection have increased after Fukushima accident. The soil-plant transfer factor (Fv) is a critical parameter for environmental risk assessment. Cs Fv values determined in acid Brazilian soils could be two orders of magnitude higher than Fv values measured in soils affected by the Chernobyl accident.

Methods: This descriptive study examined medical director: (1) presence or absence and the amount of time spent from 2017 to 2023; (2) presence and time by ownership type; (3) variations in presence and time across states; and (4) overall CMS deficiencies for violations of medical director regulations. This study used federal Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) data on staffing positions for the period of 2017-2023, along with federal nursing home ownership data and deficiencies data for 2023.
Importance: Current guidance to furlough health care staff with mild COVID-19 illness may prevent the spread of COVID-19 but may worsen nursing home staffing shortages as well as health outcomes that are unrelated to COVID-19.
Objective: To compare COVID-19-related with non-COVID-19-related harms associated with allowing staff who are mildly ill with COVID-19 to work while masked.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This modeling study, conducted from November 2023 to June 2024, used an agent-based model representing a 100-bed nursing home and its residents, staff, and their interactions; care tasks; and resident and staff health outcomes to simulate the impact of different COVID-19 furlough policies over 1 postpandemic year.
Parallel laser photogrammetry (PLP), which consists of attaching two or three parallel laser beams at a known inter-beam distance to a camera, can be used to collect morphological measurements of organisms noninvasively. The lasers project onto the photo being taken, and because the inter-beam distance is known, they act as a scale for image analysis programs like ImageJ. Traditionally, this method has been used to measure larger morphological traits (e.

Design: Agent-based model representing a typical NH.
Setting And Participants: NH residents and staff.
Objective: Nursing home residents may be particularly vulnerable to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Therefore, a question is when and how often nursing homes should test staff for COVID-19 and how this may change as severe acute respiratory coronavirus virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) evolves.
Design: We developed an agent-based model representing a typical nursing home, COVID-19 spread, and its health and economic outcomes to determine the clinical and economic value of various screening and isolation strategies and how it may change under various circumstances.
Introduction: Bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) in women includes functional and anatomic etiologies. Primary bladder neck obstruction (PBNO), Fowler's syndrome (FS), and dysfunctional voiding (DV) are some examples of functional obstructions, whereas pelvic organ prolapse (POP), periurethral masses, and intragenic causes are some of the anatomic causes.
Methods: This literature review describes the etiologies of female BOO, unique aspects of the workup and diagnosis, and the data for the standard surgical treatments and newer surgical techniques to treat women.

Introduction: Currently, there is no universally accepted diagnostic radiology curriculum for self-studying, so diagnostic radiology residents often have a challenging time knowing where to begin their independent studying away from work. In an effort to meet the needs of today's residents, we attempted to provide structured, comprehensive self-studying suggestions in a digestible and personalized format.
Materials And Methods: Each radiology division attempted to create an optimal learning resource form for the residents to use for self-studying while on each rotation.

We explore how the Patent Office may improve the quality of issued patents on "secondary" drug features by giving examiners more time to review drug-patent applications. Our findings suggest that current time allocations are causing examiners to issue low quality secondary patents on the margin. To assess the merits of expanding ex ante scrutiny of drug-patent applications at the agency, we set forth estimates of the various gains and losses associated with giving examiners more time, including reduced downstream litigation costs and added personnel expenses, along with both the static gains and dynamic innovation losses associated with earlier generic entry.

Using unconditional quantile regression, we show that family socioeconomic status particularly influences boys' relative to girls' outcomes at the lower tails of the outcome distribution, precisely where gender gaps are most pronounced. These relationships are not explained by school or neighbourhood factors, or parents' differential treatment of boys.

To examine the effectiveness of specific conservation approaches, we examined differences in forest structure and tree recruitment, including canopy cover; canopy height; seedling, sapling, and adult tree density; and average and total diameter at breast height (DBH) across 78 plots in 18 forests across Costa Rica representing protected areas, private forests utilizing PES and/or ecotourism, and private forests not utilizing these economic incentives. The effectiveness of conservation approaches in providing suitable primate habitat was assessed by conducting broad primate census surveys across a subset of eight forests to determine species richness and group encounter rate of three primate species: mantled howler monkey (Alouatta palliata), Central American spider monkey (Ateles geoffroyi), and the white-faced capuchin monkey (Cebus imitator).

Background: Sweet syndrome (SS), also known as acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis, is an immunologic syndrome characterized by widespread neutrophilic infiltration. Histiocytoid Sweet syndrome (H-SS) is a histopathologic variant of SS. While SS most commonly occurs in adults, this case report discusses an infant patient who presented with H-SS.

Clinical experiences may be limited and temporally remote from scheduled teaching. Just-in-time (JIT) training prior to utilization can promote skill development and mitigate learning decay.

We used non-invasive biomonitoring to examine associations between faecal concentrations of 97 chemical pollutants and faecal hormone metabolites of cortisol and oestradiol in four primate species inhabiting Kibale National Park, Uganda (chimpanzees-, olive baboons-, red colobus- and red-tailed monkeys-). Across all species ( = 71 samples), results demonstrated positive associations of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) ( = 0.

Here we discuss the common pathologies of the urinary system related to GSM including lower urinary tract symptoms and recurrent urinary tract infections. Female sexual dysfunction is not to be excluded as a critical part of a urologist's management of GSM but will be discussed elsewhere in this issue.

The study purpose was to assess feasibility of an abbreviated MBI protocol, providing readers with mediolateral oblique (MLO) projections only and assessing performance in lesion detection and localization.
Methods: Retrospective IRB-exempt blinded reader study administered to 5 fellowship-trained breast imaging radiologists.
Objective: To accurately examine the trends in the racial and gender composition of medical students applying and matriculating to urology residency programs.
Methods: Reports on race/ethnicity and gender for medical school graduates, and urology residency applicants and matriculants were obtained for years 2010-2018. The proportions of individuals representing different racial and gender identities among urology applicants and matriculants were divided by a denominator of their proportion in medical school graduating classes to produce representation quotients (RQ and RQ, respectively).
