A case of asymptomatic giant renal angiomyolipoma with extrusion of fat content with literature review.

Angiomyolipoma is a benign mesenchymal tumour of kidney that consists of adipose tissue, muscle cells and blood vessels. Renal angiomyolipomas represent almost one percent of all renal tumours. We reported a case of a 50-year-old woman complaining of mild abdominal discomfort with no other symptoms and no remarkable medical history.

Elevated expression of RUNX3 co-expressing with EZH2 in esophageal cancer patients from India.

Background: Runt related transcription factor3 (RUNX3) is considered as a tumor suppressor gene (TSG) that functions through the TGF-β dependent apoptosis. Promoter methylation of the CpG islands of RUNX3 and overexpression of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) has been suggested to downregulate RUNX3 in cancer.

Methods: Here, we studied the expression of RUNX3 and EZH2 in 58 esophageal tumors along with paired adjacent normal tissue.

Over consumption of fructose may lead to obesity and dyslipidemia and cause fructosylation-induced alterations in the structure and function of proteins. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of fructosylated-HSA-AGE in the pathogenesis of fatty liver (NAFLD and NASH) by biochemical, immunological and histological studies. Ten-Year Experience of Managing Giant Duodenal Ulcer Perforations with Triple Tube Ostomy at Tertiary Hospital of North India.

Duodenal ulcer perforations have been known since 1600 AD. It is a common surgical emergency and every surgeon will encounter it. The perforation size of >2 cm has been used as the criteria for defining Giant duodenal ulcers.

Actinomycetoma leg ulcers in north India.

Introduction: Actinomycetoma is a chronic subcutaneous infection caused by aerobic branching actinomycetes. Its clinical features are firm tumefaction of the affected site and the presence of abscesses, nodules, and sinuses that drain a seropurulent exudate containing filamenting granules. Cutaneous actinomycetoma has traditionally been deemed uncommon in the northern part of India, but recent studies have refuted this long-held notion.

Suspected hydatid cyst of liver harbouring an aggressive desmoplastic small round cell tumour.

Among the group of small round cell tumours, there is a distinct and rare tumour known as desmoplastic small round cell tumour (DSRCT). DSRCT presents as multiple, widespread masses in the abdomen and pelvis and may be accompanied by extensive tumour implants throughout the peritoneum as the tumour is known to spread diffusely along serosal surfaces. We discuss a case of DSRCT in a 16-year-old boy who presented with abdominal pain since 2 years, a non-tender mass was palpable on the right upper quadrant of the abdomen, ultrasonographic and CT findings suggested hydatid cyst of liver.

Low tension breast hydatid cyst--a case report.

Introduction: Features of low tension in breast hydatid cyst and symptoms secondary to cyst dying and disintegration are unique and not yet reported in the literature.

Material And Method: An young woman of 30 years complained about pain and vague swelling in the right breast during follow-up with albendazole therapy following second laparotomy for post-surgical residual cavity of hydatid cyst in the left lobe of the liver. Breast ultrasound was diagnostic.

An experience with a rare diagnosis of isolated tuberculosis of sternum at JNMC Hospital, Aligarh, India.

Objective: To diagnose isolated tuberculosis of the sternum in patients presenting with signs and symptoms suggestive of tuberculosis.

Methods: A prospective study conducted at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College JNMC Hospital, Aligarh, India from July 2000 to July 2006 of 2512 patients presenting with a suspected case of tuberculosis. Cases were confirmed using different investigations along with treatment of the patients with antitubercular treatment ATT, with further follow up for next 2 years.

Intrarenal post-traumatic pseudoaneurysm-USG colour Doppler diagnosis: a case report with review of literature.

Protein design studies using coiled coils have illustrated the potential of engineering simple peptides to self-associate into polymers and networks. Although basic aspects of self-assembly in protein systems have been demonstrated, it remains a major challenge to create materials whose large-scale structures are well determined from design of local protein-protein interactions. Here, we show the design and characterization of a helical peptide, which uses phased hydrophobic interactions to drive assembly into nanofilaments and fibrils ("nanoropes").
