Concrete is a critical material for the construction of infrastructure facilities throughout the world. Traditional concretes consist of cement paste and aggregates ranging in size from 6 to 25 mm that form a heterogeneous material with substantial compressive strength and a very low tensile strength. Steel reinforcement is used to provide tensile strength for reinforced concrete structures and as a composite the material is useful for structural applications.

Duodenal diversion is recommended for use only in patients with severe oesophageal damage. This situation commonly arises where the gastro-oesophageal junction cannot be reduced into the abdomen, or where previous surgery has made reoperation at the hiatus difficult and hazardous.

In a randomized prospective trial, including only patients with severe oesophageal changes, standard Nissen fundoplication has been compared with antrectomy and Roux-en-Y reconstruction. Twenty-two patients were randomized to each group.

Each subject was studied in one session with Tc-99m CO2-DADS-A and I-131-hippurate; digital and analog images were recorded for 30 min and after voiding. In the normal volunteers, digital images with Tc-99m CO2-DADS-A gave a kidney-to-background ratio at 3 min that was greater relative to I-131 hippurate, a leading-edge parenchymal transit time that was similar to I-131 hippurate, and a percent injected dose in the urine at 30 min that was slightly less than I-131 hippurate (p less than 0.

In all, 1,684 determinations were obtained in patients who were, at the time, free of any clinical or radiologic evidence of disease. If individual CEA determinations are considered and if 10 ng/ml is specified as the limit between normal and elevated CEA levels, both sensitivity (45.
