This work examines the anticancer activity, the anti-inflammatory nature, and the cytotoxicity of the ethanol extract obtained from the female flowers of L using molecular methods , animal testing , as well as computational methods and simulations . From the GC-MS analysis, the following bioactive compounds were found: cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), and humulene. The antiproliferative activities of the extract were determined on HeLa cells by using MTT, Crystal Violet, and Trypan Blue assays with an IC50 value suggesting 51%-77.

Background: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), the third leading cause of death worldwide, is characterized by airflow limitation that can be due to abnormalities in the airway and/or alveoli. Genetic diagnosis at an early stage can be a key factor in the provision of accurate and timely treatment. Single Nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) are an important tool to study genetic association/ predisposition of the disease and have great potential to be diagnostic markers for early diagnosis of disease.

Plant bioactive compounds, particularly apigenin, have therapeutic potential and functional activities that aid in the prevention of infectious diseases in many mammalian bodies and promote tumor growth inhibition. Apigenin is a flavonoid with low toxicities and numerous bioactive properties due to which it has been considered as a traditional medicine for decades. Apigenin shows synergistic effects in combined treatment with sorafenib in the HepG2 human cell line (HCC) in less time and statistically reduces the viability of tumor cells, migration, gene expression and apoptosis.
