This study aimed to identify risk factors for cervical lymph node metastasis (LNM) in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and develop a clinical prediction model. Retrospectively, data were collected from 348 PTC patients treated at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University between January 2019 and December 2022, with 241 patients included in the final analyses. Patients with lateral cervical LNM were categorized into a metastasis group, and those without were in a non-metastasis group.

Herein, we report a one-pot approach to diarylamines through the reductive homocoupling of nitroaromatics, employing triethylsilane as the reducing agent and Pd/NHC as the catalyst. This method enables nitroaromatics to serve both as electrophilic reagents and as precursors of nucleophilic reagents, allowing for the direct preparation of diarylamines without the need to isolate aromatic primary amines.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to clarify the effect of ZC3H13 on the growth of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).

Methods: Firstly, we used qRT-PCR and Western blot to compare the difference in the expression of ZC3H13 between normal thyroid epithelial cells and PTC cell lines. Then, ZC3H13 overexpression/knockout thyroid cancer cells were constructed by lentivirus transfection, and the effects of overexpression of ZC3H13 on the proliferation, migration and invasion of PTC cells were detected by CCK8 and transwell experiments.

The palladium-catalyzed Suzuki-Miyaura cross-couplings of nitroarenes and heteroarylboronate esters has been developed. A number of heterobiaryl compounds containing pyridine, pyrimidine, quinoline, furan, thiophene, and pyrazole were prepared using [Pd(cinnamyl)Cl]/2-aryl-5-(2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl)-2,3-imidazolylidene[1,5-]pyridines as the catalysts in good to excellent yields. The synthetic practicality of this approach is demonstrated through the synthesis of druglike molecules.

Radioiodine (I) is one of the most well-known and widely used targeted therapies. In thyroid carcinoma (THCA), it has been applied for more than eight decades and is still being utilized to eliminate remnants after resection and to reduce tumor metastases. Here, we aimed to investigate if lysine methyltransferase 2B (KMT2B) silencing could confer I resistance to THCA cells and the epigenetic mechanism behind.

Drug resistance remains a major challenge in achieving cures in cancer patients. Cabazitaxel has shown the ability to overcome drug resistance induced by paclitaxel and docetaxel; however, substantially high toxicity has been observed in patients receiving this agent, which compromises its efficacy. We have previously demonstrated that a polymeric platform (termed cabazitaxel-NPs) encapsulating the oligolactide-cabazitaxel conjugate exhibits desired antitumor efficacy and improved in vivo tolerability.

An efficient method for the synthesis of [1,4]thiazino[4,3-]indole derivatives using sodium chlorodifluoroacetate (ClCFCONa) and elemental sulfur as the difluoromethylthiolating reagent system has been developed. Three-component reactions of 2'-aminochalcones, sulfur, and ClCFCONa under basic conditions using TEMPO as the oxidant afforded [1,4]thiazino[4,3-]indol-10-ones containing a difluoromethyl thioether moiety in good yields. Four bonds including one C-N, two C-S, and one C-C bonds are selectively formed in the sequential transformation process.

Radioactive iodine (RAI, I) therapy is the main treatment for thyroid carcinoma (TC). Long noncoding RNA (lncRNA)/microRNA (miR) competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks have aroused great interest for their roles in gene expression. The present study aimed to investigate the effect of lncRNA SNHG7 on the growth and I resistance of TC.

A one-pot three-component reaction involving nitroarenes, (hetero)arylboronic acids, and potassium pyrosulfite leading to sulfonamides was described. A broad range of sulfonamides bearing different reactive functional groups were obtained in good to excellent yields through sequential C-S and S-N coupling that does not require metal catalysts.

Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is the most prevalent cancer type in the endocrine system. Metastases to parapharyngeal lymph nodes (PPLNs) are rare. Herein, we reported a case series of PTC patients with PPLN metastases operated on by using the minimally invasive video-assisted (MIVA) technique to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of this technique.

A simple protocol for the synthesis of difluoromethylthiolated chromen-4-ones using elemental sulfur and ClCFCONa as the difluoromethylthiolating agent is described. Three-component reactions of 2'-hydroxychalcones, ClCFCONa, and sulfur under basic conditions using TEMPO as the oxidant afforded HCFS-containing 4-chromen-4-one and 9-thieno[3,2-]chromen-9-one derivatives in good yield. The protocol is practical and efficient, and the starting materials are cheap and readily available.

Palladium-catalyzed denitrative Suzuki coupling of nitroarenes using 2-aryl-5-(2,4,6-triisopropylphenyl)-2,3-imidazolylidene[1,5-a]pyridines as the ligands is described. The key to success is the use of the NHC ligands which show strong donating ability and suitable steric hindrance allowing the successful oxidative addition of Ar-NO bonds. Both aromatic and aliphatic boronic acids are tolerated, and a variety of biphenyls and alkylarenes were obtained in good to excellent yields.

Dimeric rhodium(ii) complexes and rhodium(iii) peroxide complexes supported by N-heterocyclic carbenes were synthesized. The treatment of [Ag3(L)2](PF6)3 (L = bis(N-pyridylimidazolylidenyl)methane) with [Rh(COD)Cl] afforded [Rh(L)(CH3CN)]2(PF6)4 in which two [Rh(L)] moieties are bound together via an unsupported Rh-Rh bond. The substitution of axial acetonitrile by phosphines led to the insertion of O2 into the Rh-Rh bond and the isolation of [Rh(L)(PPh3)]2(μ-η1:η1-O2)(PF6)4 and [Rh(L)(PCy3)]2(μ-η1:η1-O2) (PF6)4.

Article Synopsis
  • This study explored how the preoperative albumin/globulin ratio (AGR) relates to survival outcomes in patients with laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC), an area not previously researched.
  • Conducted on 241 patients from 2005 to 2010, the study found that an AGR cut-off value of 1.28 is significant for overall survival (OS).
  • Key findings indicated that low AGR, nodal metastasis, T classification, and histological grade are associated with worse overall and disease-free survival, suggesting that low AGR could be an important, simple blood test for predicting prognosis in LSCC patients.
