Background: l-cysteine plays an important role in protein synthesis, osmoregulation, detoxification, nervous system function, and antioxidant process. Low levels of cysteine are associated with various diseases like cardiovascular diseases, ischemic stroke, neurological disorders, diabetes, cancer like lung and colorectal cancer, renal dysfunction-linked conditions, and vitiligo. Therefore, it is of great significance to develop a rapid and accurate method for the determination of cysteine concentration.

In this study, soil pore characteristics and maize yield were assessed in a five-year biochar-application experiment on the Loess Plateau of China, including four treatments: Control (no biochar), low-dose biochar application (LB, 3 t ha), moderate-dose biochar application (MB, 6 t ha), and high-dose biochar application (HB, 9 t ha). Root growth traits were evaluated by cultivating maize in intact soil cores collected from field conditions using X-ray computed tomography.

The aim of this study is to reveal the potential causal relationship between IBD and WM microstructure through a bidirectional two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis.
Methods: We extracted genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics for IBD and WM microstructure from published GWASs.
Background: OA imposes a heavy burden on patients and society in that its mechanism is still unclear, and there is a lack of effective targeted therapy other than surgery.
Methods: The osteoarthritis dataset GSE55235 was downloaded from the GEO database and analyzed for differential genes by limma package, followed by analysis of immune-related modules by xcell immune infiltration combined with the WGCNA method, and macrophage polarization-related genes were downloaded according to the Genecard database, and VennDiagram was used to determine their intersection. These genes were also subjected to gene ontology (GO), disease ontology (DO), and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) functional enrichment analyses.

Introduction: FAK, a nonreceptor cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase, plays a crucial role in tumor metastasis, drug resistance, tumor stem cell maintenance, and regulation of the tumor microenvironment. FAK has emerged as a promising target for tumor therapy based on both preclinical and clinical data.
Areas Covered: This paper aims to summarize the molecular mechanisms underlying FAK's involvement in tumorigenesis and progression.
Aims: Neuropathic pain after spinal cord injury (SCI) remains a common and thorny problem, influencing the life quality severely. This study aimed to elucidate the reorganization of the primary sensory cortex (S1) and the regulatory mechanism of the lateral parabrachial nucleus (lPBN) in the presence of allodynia or hyperalgesia after left spinal cord hemisection injury (LHS).
Methods: Through behavioral tests, we first identified mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia following LHS.
Climate change affects the species spatio-temporal distribution deeply. However, how climate affects the spatio-temporal distribution pattern of related species on the large scale remains largely unclear. Here, we selected two closely related species in genus and to explore their distribution pattern.

Methods: The proliferative inhibition of CoC1 cells treated with ADFMChR was measured using (3, 4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2, 5-diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) colorimetric assay. The apoptosis of CoC1 cells induced by ADFMChR was determined by DNA agarose gel electrophoresis assay and flow cytometry using PI staining.
