The detection of volatile amines is necessary due to the serious toxicity hazards they pose to human skin, respiratory systems, and nervous systems. However, traditional amines detection methods require bulky equipment, high costs, and complex measurements. Herein, we report a new simple, rapid, convenient, and visual method for the detection of volatile amines based on the gas-solid reactions of tetrachloro-p-benzoquinone (TCBQ) and volatile amines.

In the progression of CRPC, androgen receptor (AR) and its splice variants play critical roles. Hence, it is necessary to develop a drug to inhibit the expression and activity of the full‑length and splice variants of AR for the treatment of CRPC.

Previous studies shown that Tartary buckwheat shells are rich in flavonoids, which are responsible for their antioxidant properties. Due to lack of advanced separation technologies, the purification for Tartary buckwheat shell is still in the laboratory scale, and could not realize the industrialization production.

The maximum adsorption capacity of Co(II) onto FeO@CS-EDTA was 48.78 mg/g at pH = 5 (303 K), which is much higher than that of FeO@Chitosan as well as chitosan.

The present study revealed that all members of the CPSF complex were overexpressed in lung cancer tissue from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) Lung Cancer Cohort compared with normal lung tissue. Analysis of overall survival and recurrence-free survival verified that only CPSF3 was associated with prognosis and recurrence of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), and thus could be a promising biomarker.

In this research, the adsorptive removal of diclofenac sodium, one of the representative pharmaceuticals and personal care products, from aqueous solution using FeO@MOF-100(Fe) magnetic microspheres was studied for the first time. The FeO@MOF-100(Fe) microspheres exhibit strong magnetism and stability, which were observed as a core-shell structure. The maximum adsorption capacity of FeO@MOF-100(Fe) for diclofenac sodium can reach 377.

However, MWCNTs or graphenes reinforced copper matrix composites could not catch up with ideal value due to reinforcement dispersion in metal matrix, wettability to metal matrix, and composite material interface. Taking advantage of the superior properties of one-dimensional MWCNTs and two-dimensional graphenes, complementary performance and structure are constructed to create a high contact area between MWCNTs and graphenes to the Cu matrix.

Previous study revealed that DAL-1 (differentially expressed in adenocarcinoma of the lung) could attenuate EMT and metastasis in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Further study proved that HSPA5 (heat shock protein 5), which has a promoting effect on EMT, could bind to DAL-1.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. The poor prognosis is partly due to lack of efficient methods for early diagnosis. MicroRNAs play roles in almost all aspects of cancer biology, and can be secreted into the circulation and serve as molecular biomarkers for the early diagnosis of cancer.

Dispersions of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MW-CNTs) assisted by non-covalent surface modification and covalent surface modification were prepared using different concentration of gallic acid aqueous solution. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to investigate the dispersion states and effect of MWNTs. FTIR results demonstrate that concentration of gallic acid has great effect on the surface modification of multi-walled carbon nanotubes.

Background: For patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) following thyroidectomy, thyroid hormone withdrawal (THW) for four to six weeks has been used for decades to increase serum thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) concentrations in order to enhance iodine-131 uptake by normal thyroid cells and differentiated thyroid tumour cells. Exogenous stimulation with recombinant human thyroid-stimulating hormone (rhTSH) offers an alternative to THW while avoiding the morbidity of hypothyroidism. However, the efficacy of rhTSH-aided iodine-131 treatment for residual or metastatic DTC has not been prospectively assessed.

Treatment for pediatric GD includes (1) antithyroid drugs (ATD), (2) radioiodine, and (3) thyroidectomy. Yet, the optimal therapy remains controversial.
