Objective: This study explored the association between ω-6 to ω-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and metabolic syndrome in women experiencing climacteric syndrome.
Methods: The study involved 186 female participants and utilized surveys, anthropometric measurements (waist circumference, height, BMI, waist-to-height ratio), blood pressure assessments, and blood samples for lipid profile, glucose, insulin, HbA1c analysis. Serum PUFAs levels were analyzed using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) regulates vasculogenesis by using its tyrosine kinase receptors. However, little is known about whether Sec14-like phosphatidylinositol transfer proteins (PTP) are involved in this process. Here, we show that zebrafish sec14l3, one of the family members, specifically participates in artery and vein formation via regulating angioblasts and subsequent venous progenitors' migration during vasculogenesis.

However, it is unclear how the Wnt ligand-stimulated, G protein-coupled receptor Frizzled activates phospholipases for calcium release. Here, we report that the zebrafish/human phosphatidylinositol transfer protein Sec14l3/SEC14L2 act as GTPase proteins to transduce Wnt signals from Frizzled to phospholipase C (PLC).
