This study introduced a hydrogel dressing, termed SODex-gel, which was constructed by establishing Schiff base and hydrogen bonds with the precursors of oxidized dextran (ODex) and succinic dihydrazide (SD)-modified sodium alginate (SD--SA). Through comprehensive and studies, the adhesive properties, self-healing capabilities, hemostatic potential, and wound healing efficacy of the SODex-gel dressing were meticulously evaluated. The H NMR, FTIR, and TGA analyses confirmed the fabrication of the SODex-gel dressing and its constituent elements.

However, current researches lack an observation of HRV in subthreshold depression (SubD), which increases the risk of MDD and presents significant societal challenges.
Methods: This study compared resting state HRV among 128 MDD patients, 131 SubD individuals and 222 healthy controls (HC) recruited from the hospital, physical examination center, and colleges.
Objectives: Three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound imaging can overcome the limitations of conventional two-dimensional (2D) ultrasound imaging in structural observation and measurement. However, conducting volumetric ultrasound imaging for large-sized organs still faces difficulties including long acquisition time, inevitable patient movement, and 3D feature recognition. In this study, we proposed a real-time volumetric free-hand ultrasound imaging system optimized for the above issues and applied it to the clinical diagnosis of scoliosis.

Purpose: To analyze dynamic and static changes in the disc-condyle relationship in patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion after orthognathic surgery.
Methods: The surgical group comprised 30 patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion, and the magnetic resonance imaging and mandibular movement data were obtained at T0 (preoperatively), T1 (3 months postoperatively), and T2 (at the end of orthodontic treatment). The control group included 20 patients with normal occlusion, and the mandibular movement data were recorded.
Vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID), resulting from chronic cerebral hypoperfusion, represent the second most prevalent form of dementia globally. Aerobic exercise is widely acknowledged as an effective intervention for various cognitive disorders. This study utilized a bilateral common carotid artery stenosis (BCAS) model to investigate whether aerobic exercise promotes cognitive recovery through the Annexin-A1 (ANXA1)/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) axis in BCAS mice.

Herein, a DOX-loaded sodium alginate-based injectable hydrogel (DOX@MHB-conj-SA) was designed by the Michael addition reactions between the sulfydryl in cross-linkers and the double bonds in a derivative of sodium alginate. DOX@MHB-conj-SA was administrated to CT26 tumor-bearing mice via peritumoral injection for locoregional treatment of colorectal cancer by inducing apoptosis and pyroptosis.

Single treatment methods for wound infections caused by drug-resistant bacteria often fail to simultaneously achieve high antimicrobial efficacy and wound healing efficiency. Therefore, it is crucial to develop a small molecule prodrug that can achieve both goals, in this context, we have engineered a green-light-activated nitric oxide photocage/photodynamic therapeutic prodrug, designed to release NO, which not only potentiates antimicrobial efficacy but also facilitates collagen accumulation at the wound interface, thereby expediting the wound healing process. Additionally, it mitigates tissue inflammation by suppressing the NF-κB signaling pathway.

In this study, an injectable hydrogel comprising chitosan (CS), β-glycerophosphate (β-GP), and dopamine (DA) with near-infrared (NIR) photothermal attributes was developed. The composite hydrogels integrate doxorubicin (DOX), termed DCGD, and can be used for chemotherapy, synergistic photothermal therapy, anti-bacterial and hemostasis.

This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between small airway parameters derived from spirometry and oscillometry in hospitalized patients, assessing the potential of oscillometry as an alternative diagnostic tool for SAdf. Additionally, this study explored the inconsistencies and influencing factors related to spirometry and oscillometry in diagnosing SAdf, conducting a preliminary assessment of these factors.

However, existing studies predominantly examine single sample types and lack comparative analyses across different samples. This study comprehensively detects and compares genotypic resistance to clarithromycin and levofloxacin in gastric mucosa, gastric fluid, and fecal samples from the same patients.

As delayed parenthood becomes more prevalent, understanding age-related testosterone decline and its impact on male fertility has gained importance. However, molecular mechanisms concerning testicular aging remain largely undiscovered. Our study highlights that miR-143-3p, present in aging Sertoli cells (SCs), is loaded into extracellular vesicles (EVs), affecting Leydig cells (LCs) and germ cells, thus disrupting testicular tissue homeostasis and spermatogenesis.

Ultrasound imaging technology plays a vital role in medical imaging. Ovarian ultrasound image segmentation is challenging due to the wide variation in lesion sizes caused by the cancer detection period and individual differences, as well as the noise from reflected wave interference. To address these challenges, we propose an innovative algorithm for ovarian ultrasound image segmentation that incorporates multi-scale features.
